Joe Biden’s presidency is falling apart after the botched withdrawal of American forces out of Afghanistan.
That’s bad news for Kamala Harris as her political viability goes down in flames if Biden’s administration ends in failure.
Kamala Harris had one unexpected reaction to Joe Biden making a personal request.
The Biden administration went into hiding as the Taliban seized control of Afghanistan in a matter of days after Biden withdrew American military forces in accordance with a deal negotiated by Donald Trump.
But Biden incompetently managed the withdrawal by not evacuating thousands of American citizens and Afghans that worked with the U.S. military as well as leaving behind sensitive documents and a massive trove of military equipment.
The situation in Afghanistan turned so chaotic that Afghans fell off the wings of planes in midair plummeting to their deaths in a desperate attempt to escape the country.
Joe Biden huddled in a bunker at Camp David as Kabul fell.
Kamala Harris reportedly refused to address the nation about Afghanistan, supposedly claiming that the administration wanted to pin the Afghanistan debacle on her.
Becker News reports:
According to multiple reports, Harris was asked to address the American people on Sunday about the unraveling situation in the war-torn country, but refused. As the Taliban threatened the lives of thousands of Americans and allies in Kabul, pressure mounted on the White House to look the people in the eye and explain what happened. Yet, no one did.
A well-placed source inside the White House informs Becker News that Kamala Harris objected to addressing the nation on Sunday. The source reports that Kamala Harris could be heard screaming, “They will not pin this s*** on me!” Furthermore, the source reports that Jill Biden was at Camp David deflecting calls being made for Joe Biden.
Harris did not want to speak to her fellow Americans about Afghanistan because she does not want any fingerprints on Biden’s humiliating defeat on Afghanistan.
If Harris spoke to the country about the Taliban takeover that would force uncomfortable questions about Harris’ comments in April boasting about how she was the last person in the room when Biden set his doomed withdrawal timeline.
“President Biden always said that he wants you to be the last person in the room, particularly for big decisions, just as he was for President Obama,” CNN’s Dana Bash asked Harris in the April interview. “He just made a really big decision, Afghanistan.”
Harris confirmed that and told Bash that she stood by Biden’s withdrawal plan.
“I do,” Harris said in response to Bash’s question. “And I’m going to add to that. This is a president who has an extraordinary amount of courage.”
Kamala Harris’ future presidential prospects already rest on shaky ground.
Polls show Harris is the least popular vice president in 50 years due in large part to her failure as the administration’s border czar to solve the illegal immigration crisis.
Harris becoming the face of the administration’s Afghan military defeat could be the final nail in the coffin of Harris’ presidential aspirations.
