Donald Trump is under attack.
A shadowy force in Washington is plotting behind the scenes to sabotage his 2020 re-election campaign.
Kellyanne Conway was asked about this sinister plot and shut it down with just three words.
Never Trump Republicans are pointing to the 2020 GOP Presidential primary as their best chance to deny Donald Trump a second term.
Anti-Trump Republicans believe if they can field a candidate that will damage Trump in the primary, they can create a divided Republican Party that will render the President easy pickings for his Democratic opponent.
The last three incumbent Presidents who lost re-election – Gerald Ford in 1976, Jimmy Carter in 1980, and George H.W. Bush in 1992 – all faced ideologically driven primary challengers.
Never Trumpers now need to find a candidate.
The two most talked about possibilities are Ohio Governor John Kasich and Arizona Senator Jeff Flake.
These two RINOs agree with the Democrats on virtually every issue, from banning guns to allowing illegal aliens to invade the country.
Kasich and Flake are the pictures of the “reasonable” Republican the media parades around on cable shows to stick a knife under the ribs of the President and his conservative supporters.
But these two RINO traitors know that running against Trump – who has the backing of nearly 90 percent of Republicans – is a suicide mission.
So other candidates may have to step up.
One rumored candidate is Never Trump establishment mouthpiece and discredited warmonger Bill Kristol.
Kristol, who founded the increasingly liberal Weekly Standard, has dropped hints that he could be the Never Trump faction’s sacrificial lamb in 2020.
The Daily Caller exclusively reported that a source close to Kristol informed them that the Never Trump “Republican” was considering challenging Trump in 2020:
Kristol, who is consistently one of the most vocal anti-Trump Republicans, has been considering a run for months, a source familiar with Kristol’s thinking told The Daily Caller News Foundation.
Kristol, who remains an editor-at-large for the Standard, said he has no plans to run but declined to rule it out when asked by TheDCNF.
“No plans to run. But I’m randomly in Boston today, and happen to have had lunch with someone who does a lot of work in New Hampshire,” Kristol wrote in an email. “As he’d say, ‘Ya nevah know.’”
CRTV’s Eric Bolling asked White House Senior Counselor, Kellyanne Conway, about Kristol possibly mounting a primary challenge to Trump.
Conway shut it down with three words.
“Of what country?” Conway responded.
“Well, it’s a free country. I guess if you’re 35 and meet the other criterion, then you can. I will tell you that everybody thinks it’s so easy to do that — that they can somehow catch lightning in a bottle the way Donald Trump did,” the senior counselor to the President concluded.
Do you think the Never Trump faction of the Republican Party will fail to stop Trump in 2020?
