Democrats are very outraged that videos from January 6th have been shared.
And their problems are about to get worse.
A top Republican promised to release footage that has Democrats trembling.
For years Democrats were able to control the narrative of January 6th by only releasing limited footage of the event which didn’t give the American public a full view of what happened.
Members of the Biden administration compared January 6th to Pearl Harbor or September 11th, events that killed thousands of Americans and brought us into international conflicts. Democrats have claimed that democracy was nearly killed that day.
If the events of that day were so serious why don’t Democrats want the American public to have full access to the footage?
Democrats were outraged when Republican House Speaker Kevin McCarthy gave Fox News host Tucker Carlson unseen security footage from the Capitol riot.
The White House blasted Tucker Carlson by name, claiming that he had selectively edited January 6 footage.
“We agree with the chief of the Capitol Police and the wide range of bipartisan lawmakers who have condemned this false depiction of the unprecedented, violent attack on our Constitution and the rule of law — which cost police officers their lives,” White House spokesperson Andrew Bates said in a statement to Politico.
Even in their statement after the video footage aired, the White House is lying yet again to the American people because not a single police officer’s death was caused by January 6th. Capitol Police officer Brian Sicknick died on January 7, 2021, after a series of strokes. While his death is certainly tragic it was the result of natural causes.
If Carlson’s depiction were false, Democrats would be happy that McCarthy said he plans on releasing thousands of hours of U.S. Capitol riot footage.
“Yeah,” McCarthy said to Breitbart News when their reporter asked if the tapes will be fully released to the public on Wednesday.
“We just want to make sure we go through them all, and it takes time,” he continued. “The first thing that Tucker said too, he didn’t want to show any exits to cause any problems. We asked the Capitol Police, ‘Were there any concerns?’ They came back with one, and we mitigated that, but it was interesting, that one that they had a problem with, Eric Swalwell had had up on the internet for the last two years showing that part.”
“Well this is all about transparency,” McCarthy said when asked why he released the tapes. “It won’t just be to Tucker. Like any news organization, different people get exclusives. We watched during the January 6, CNN would have exclusives all the time and nobody complained. CNN actually got to be in Statuary Hall for a whole hour for their own show. You’ve watched that January 6 would release only certain tapes. I think it’s better for transparency that anyone can make their own decision up, and as we walk through these, these are many more hours of tapes than the January 6 committee told us. It’s not 14,000. It’s 42,000 hours.”
