The Democrat race for President is heating up.
They are finally down to just a few candidates.
And now a new lawsuit is about to bring down Trump’s top 2020 challenger.
Currently, there is no candidate for President in the news more than Joe Biden.
And it isn’t for anything good.
Following a complaint from a so-called “whistleblower” against President Trump, he is now facing questions about his son Hunter Biden’s business dealings in Ukraine.
Biden is facing questions about whether he used his position as Vice President to financially enrich his son, who was a board member of the Ukrainian energy company Burisma.
The most troubling accusation is that Biden shut down a corruption investigation into Burisma by threatening to withhold U.S. aid unless the prosecutor who launched the investigation was fired.
And watchdog group Judicial Watch just filed a lawsuit to get to the bottom of that.
Judicial Watch President Tim Fitton made the announcement in an article for Breitbart News.
“We filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit for records about the firing of Ukraine’s top prosecutor after then-Vice President Biden threated to withhold aid,” Fitton writes. “We filed the lawsuit on Wednesday against the U.S. Department of State.”
The lawsuit comes after the State Department failed to respond to a FOIA question they put through in May.
In their lawsuit, they demand any records relating to Ukrainian prosecutor Viktor Shokin’s investigation into the co-founder of Burisma Mykola Zlochevsky, as well as Shokin’s resignation.
They also demand any records of communications between any Department of State officials and the Vice President’s office regarding Shokin.
This is bad news for Biden, whose son was getting paid $50,000 a month by Burisma.
In a video, Biden is heard bragging about how he pressured, under threat of withholding $1 billion in U.S. aid, for Shokin to be fired after he began his investigation into Burisma.
It is that incident that Trump briefly mentioned to Ukraine’s new President Volodymyr Zelensky, who has made fighting against corruption a major part of his presidency.
While a so-called “whistleblower” claims Trump was threatening Zelensky, the transcript of the call shows that to be false.
In reality, it is exactly what Trump was accused of that Biden is likely guilty of.
When Obama was in office, there was no way Biden would face any investigation to prove if that is the case.
Biden was so confident that was the case that he bragged about his actions in front of cameras, after all.
And the mainstream media put in no effort to cover it.
That is until the so-called “whistleblower” came out claiming that Trump threatened Ukrainian authorities to look into it.
Now people are looking into exactly what Biden did, and it will almost certainly harm his already falling poll numbers.
Unless this scandal ends quickly, he will likely be forced to drop out of the race altogether.
