Nancy Pelosi is trying to pull the wool over America’s eyes.
She wants Americans to think that impeachment of Trump is officially off the table.
But Rush Limbaugh just called out Pelosi’s backdoor impeachment plans that she never wanted to leak out.
When the House of Representatives voted this past week to table articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump, that was supposed to mark the end of Democrats’ efforts to remove the President from office.
Many within the leadership of the Democratic Party worked to kill the push for impeachment out of fear that it could jeopardize the party’s chances in 2020.
And in the end, Democrats were split almost 50/50 on whether or not to push forward with the idea of removing Trump from office.
That split was enough to guarantee that Democrat Congressman Al Green’s impeachment resolution would be defeated.
But that doesn’t mean all talk of impeachment is gone.
In fact, while Pelosi publicly walks back talk of impeaching the President, she’s quietly setting up the stage to bring the impeachment articles back up and sneak it through Congress without any media attention being centered on it.
But there’s a problem for Pelosi.
Her backdoor impeachment plans just blew up in her face.
And it’s all because Rush Limbaugh just called her out for it.
“Jerry Nadler and Adam Schiff are on TV this weekend lying. Jerry Nadler went on TV this weekend and said that Mueller found evidence of collusion! And Adam Schiff is out saying that Mueller has named or has essentially identified Trump as an unindicted coconspirator. In what? There aren’t any charges! Nobody has been charged in the Mueller investigation with collusion,” said Limbaugh when talking about the upcoming Mueller testimony to Congress.
“Mueller’s report has come out. And yet the Democrats can’t let it go. They want to bring it back. They want to incite impeachment. CNN has a poll out there today that’s got the Drive-By Media very depressed. The vast majority of Americans are not interested in impeachment, they don’t want the president to be impeached,” adds Limbaugh.
So the game plan seems to be that Pelosi and her congressional allies will use the Mueller testimony to Congress to see if they can build a better case for impeaching the President later down the road.
And if Mueller cooperates and gives them what they want, then Pelosi can bring back impeachment and take all the credit for doing so, while at the same time denying her far-left wing members of her party the distinction of being the one to push for impeaching the President.
In short, she will endear herself to her base, shore up her left flank, and potentially weaken the President all at the same time.
But the problem for Pelosi is that people are catching up.
Limbaugh just called her out for the plan and Attorney General William Barr is also expecting Pelosi and the Democrats to pull a political stunt at the Mueller testifying meeting, which is why the Attorney General is instructing Mueller not to say anything he didn’t already cover in his Russia investigation report.
