The only goal of the Democrats in 2018 seems to be scoring points with their anti-Trump base.
However, this has resulted in sometimes finding themselves in hot water.
And one major Democrat may have to step down after doing something awful to spite Trump.
Shutting Down An ICE Facility
Portland, Oregon has cemented themselves as a major force in the anti-Trump movement.
Virtually the entire city’s government is dedicated to promoting policies solely to spite the President.
This objective recently created a huge problem for an ICE facility located in Portland when radical left protesters descended upon the site, harassed employees, and attacked federal police in an attempt to shut it down.
Mayor Ted Wheeler issued a stand down order for law enforcement.
The violent mob successfully shut down the facility for several days.
After over a month of lacking proper resources, police were finally able to come in and shut down the protest.
A bio-hazard team preceded the police, finding the site littered with trash and dirty needles.
Criticism from all levels of government began pouring in soon after.
Portland Police Association president Daryl Turner laid into Wheeler for letting his political views get in the way of proper police actions.
The union that represents ICE employees, the National ICE Council, said that Wheeler “created a zone of terror and lawlessness” by refusing to shut down the protest.
President Donald Trump blasted Wheeler in a statement at the White House saying, “Last month, the mayor of Portland, Oregon shamefully ordered local police to stand down, leaving federal law enforcement officers to face an angry mob of violent people.”
Calls To Resign
Perhaps the sharpest criticism came from a Republican Senator who has called on Wheeler to resign.
Louisiana Senator Bill Cassidy introduced a resolution blasted the anti-Trump mayor’s handling of the protest, calling for his resignation.
The move comes as one of the first major calls for a Democratic official to step down for refusing to do their job.
In the age of Democrats doing whatever they can to defy Trump, they are finding more creative ways to carry out their agenda.
Attacking ICE agents is a new pastime for them.
Major Democrats like congressional candidate Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez have made abolishing ICE a plank of their platform.
It’s About Open Borders
The reality is that left’s calls to abolish ICE is really just part of the open-borders agenda.
Prior to the election of Donald Trump, Democrats generally supported some form of border enforcement.
Politicians like Hillary Clinton and Nancy Pelosi even supported building a border fence just a few years ago.
As a result of their base pressuring them therefore Democrats no longer support any form of border enforcement.
Democrats fight for complete open borders and amnesty as the future of America.
