Rush Limbaugh’s passing opened up a giant void in conservative media.
Now a surprising name is throwing their hat in the ring.
Megyn Kelly just made a big announcement about taking over for Rush Limbaugh.
NBC caved toa woke mob and fired Megyn Kelly in 2018 following comments Kelly made about blackface Halloween costumes.
The Peacock Network famously hired Kelly away from Fox News in 2017 with a reported three-year, 69-million-dollar contract.
After NBC fired Kelly, Kelly took some time off before launching a podcast in 2020 that became one of the most popular shows on the internet ranking in the top 100 most downloaded podcasts.
Kelly’s podcasting success led SiriusXM Radio to turn her podcast into a daily two hour show to air from 12-2 p.m.
This is clearly a play by the satellite radio company to make a play for Limbaugh’s audience.
The Hollywood Reporter wrote:
Former Fox News and NBC anchor Megyn Kelly will host an exclusive daily radio show for SiriusXM, the company said Tuesday.
Kelly will host her eponymous The Megyn Kelly Show weekdays from 12-2 p.m. ET on the Triumph channel 111 beginning Sept. 7. As part of the exclusive deal, subscribers will also get access to a video version of the show. Subscribers to Kelly’s podcast will get to listen to episodes of the daily show on a delay.
Red Seat Ventures, which handled production and distribution of Kelly’s podcast, will produce the new radio show.
After Kelly alienated conservatives with her feud with Donald Trump during the 2016 election, Kelly refashioned herself as a center-right critic of the woke left and critical race theory.
In February, Kelly told Bill Maher that she pulled her kids out of a fancy New York City private school over woke curriculum and left-wing brainwashing.
Kelly cited one lesson that Kelly claimed amounted to recruiting children to the transgender lifestyle.
“At our boys’ school in particular when our son was in the third grade, they unleashed a three-week, experimental trans education program, on these eight and nine-year-old boys,” Kelly began.
“And it wasn’t about support, we felt it was more like they were trying to convince them ‘come on over’ and the boys started to get confusion,” Kelly stated.
Kelly also complained that one lesson forced her six-year-old son to write a letter to the Cleveland Indians complaining that the Major League Baseball team’s name was racist.
“He’s six. Can he learn how to spell Cleveland before we activate him? If he’s going to be activated, Doug and I should do it, not a kindergarten teacher,” Kelly added.
There are now three national programs running in Limbaugh’s old time slot.
Sirius is betting on Kelly’s reputation from Fox News and the success of her podcast to gain a foothold in the post-Limbaugh conservative media landscape.
