Michelle Obama’s controversial appearance at the Essence Festival in New Orleans took an ugly turn.
During a grievance-filled interview with CBS anchor Gayle King, Michelle Obama let a number of racist remarks and conspiracy theories fly.
Most awful was her claim racist white Americans figured if her husband – a black man – could succeed as President that the job was idiot-proof and anyone could perform the duties of Commander-in-Chief.
“I guess it’s kind of like if the black guy can do it, anybody can do it — and that’s not true. It’s a hard job,” Obama ranted.
The former First Lady doesn’t think Donald Trump won the election on merit.
Obama contends Trump only won because bigots saw Obama succeed and therefore it did not matter what Trump’s qualifications were.
These are ugly lies and smears.
The American people did not render a verdict of massive success on the Obama Presidency.
If that were the case, Hillary Clinton would have won the election.
After all, Obama endorsed Clinton as the most qualified candidate ever to seek the Presidency.
And Clinton’s campaign was an explicit appeal to carry out Barack Obama’s third term in office.
After attacking the Americans as racists who viewed Obama through the bigotry of low expectations, Obama then began to whine about her treatment.
Michelle Obama told Gayle King that the media painted a picture of her as “an angry black woman who was emasculating her husband.”
Obama also claimed that her presence frightened Americans that were scared of “the strength of a black woman.”
This is revisionist history.
Michelle Obama famously declared she was never proud of her country until Barack Obama was elected President.
And Obama played the race card by sneering that every day she woke up in the White House, she recalled that slaves built it.
No media outlet fabricated a narrative about Michelle Obama being “angry.”
News coverage presented Michelle Obama as angry because Michelle Obama was the typical America-hating grievance monger that sees the United States as a racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic cancer on the world.
These comments appalled millions of Americans.
Americans expect their public officials to be boosters for America in public.
Every nation has its faults.
And every nation has ugly parts of its history.
But on balance it is impossible to deny that America is the greatest force for good the world has ever seen.
Only Michelle Obama and her fellow leftists that want to tear America as everyone has known it down and replace it with something else entirely disagree.
