There’s no telling when Robert Mueller’s investigation will end.
As long as it stays open, every friend and high-level ally to President Trump is in danger.
But Mueller just got the news that could destroy his entire investigation.
For the past two years, Robert Mueller has been targeting figures close to Trump.
The two most prominent have been Michael Cohen and Paul Manafort.
And both happily complied with Mueller in order to get leniency in their sentencing.
Many of the allegations against Cohen, like the so-called “hush money” payment to Stormy Daniels, could likely have been beaten in court.
But instead of taking on that fight, Cohen is serving jail-time on a plea deal to avoid harsher sentencing.
In order to get that deal, Cohen agreed to cooperate with Mueller and speak with his team in his investigation.
So in essence, Cohen is supporting the team that placed charges on him for crimes outside of the original scope of the Russia collusion investigation.
That is Mueller’s overall strategy.
If nobody cooperates with Mueller, he has very little to work within convicting Trump of Russia collusion.
But one person Mueller is going to have a hard time getting to cooperate is Roger Stone.
Stone is a longtime friend of Donald Trump and his oldest political advisor.
He is the one who first saw Trump as a potential Presidential candidate and was his guiding force during the campaign.
That’s why the Deep State dislikes him almost as much as they hate Trump.
Recently, he was arrested in the early morning hours with a force more heavily armed than those who raided the compound of Osama bin Laden.
He is facing a number of charges, including lying to Congress and obstruction of justice.
Following his arrest, he has been on a media blitz getting his side of the story out as much as possible.
As with any contact with the media, things are being misconstrued.
A recent comment Stone made to ABC News has some believing he intends to cooperate with Mueller.
“If there’s wrongdoing by other people in the campaign that I know about, which I know of none, but if there is, I would certainly testify honestly,” Stone said on ‘This Week.’
However, he also said that any cooperation with Mueller would first need to be discussed with his legal team.
Of course, the media reported that Stone has already decided to cooperate with Mueller and flip on Trump.
In response, Stone fired back making it clear he was simply talking about telling Mueller the truth about what he knows.
“But I’m not going to do what Michael Cohen has done. I’m not going to make up lies or bear false witness against Donald Trump or anyone else,” Stone stated.
This means Mueller is going to have a lot of trouble getting anything worthwhile from Stone.
But that doesn’t mean Mueller won’t do everything in his power to lock him up for as long as possible.
Do you think Roger Stone is being targeted for being close to Trump?
