Bill Clinton and his allies are no strangers to scandal.
But this time they could not escape the fallout.
That’s because this murder turned one Bill Clinton ally’s world upside down.
Bill Clinton Ally Ends His Political Career
Rahm Emanuel was one of Bill Clinton’s top allies and had served in his administration.
Emanuel later won a seat in Congress representing a Chicago area district.
He also worked in Barack Obama’s White House as Chief of Staff.
Emanuel topped off his career by winning two terms to serve as Mayor of Chicago.
However, his career is over.
And it’s all because of one murder.
Emanuel Calls It Quits
Emanuel stunned pundits by saying he would not seek a third term as mayor.
“As much as I love this job and will always love this city and its residents, I’ve decided not to seek re-election,” he said. “This has been the job of a lifetime, but it is not a job for a lifetime.”
“For the last seven and a half years I’ve given my all every day and left everything on the field. This commitment has required significant sacrifice all around. … We have more to do and from now until then, we will do everything in our power to get it done and walk out the door hopefully leaving Chicago and Chicagoans in a better place,” he finished.
He was expected to seek re-election.
But he saw that his path to victory was closed.
Emanuel’s Decision Changed By One Murder
In 2015, a police officer allegedly murdered 15-year-old Laquan McDonald.
A jury found the officer not guilty.
But that did not quiet the critics.
Critics blamed Emanuel for withholding the dash cam video that had recorded the shooting.
The city did not make it public until after Emanuel’s election in 2015.
Because the shooting had happened at the height of the racist Black Lives Matter movement, critics believe Emanuel buried the tape because it would have cost him the election.
Emanuel’s recent polling showed he had crashed.
He spoke with both Obama and Clinton before deciding not to run for re-election.
What This Means for the Future
Pundits claimed Emanuel was a moderate.
In 2006, Emanuel found Democrats willing to run for Congress who could lie to voters about being pro-life and pro-gun.
These Democrats voted with Nancy Pelosi but talked conservative at home.
That’s why the press called Emanuel the force behind the Democrats 2006 sweep into power.
But now Democrat voters want 100 percent left-wingers.
The far-left will win up to eight new seats on the city council.
They push for new taxes, welfare programs, and union benefits.
Democrats tossed aside any attempt to pretend to be moderate.
The Democrat Party of Bill Clinton is dead.
The lunatic left dominates the party.
This could impact 2020.
Democrat voters across the country could hand the nomination to a fringe candidate.
This tide has already washed away Rahm Emanuel’s career.
And Democrats commitment to identity politics could sink the party again in 2020.
