Despite concerns from moderates,Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi is committed to pushing through a massive $3.5 trillion bill.
While Democrats claim that it is infrastructure spending, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell called them out on it and said that it’s “an effort to exploit this terrible but temporary pandemic as a Trojan Horse for permanent socialism.”
Sen. Ron Wyden (D-Ore.) admitted that the bill “represents a fundamental reordering in the commitments this country makes to its children and their families.”
Pelosi doesn’t even care about how much this bill will be costing the American people.
“This is not about price tag. This is about what is in the bill,” Pelosi said.
The total debt per taxpayer is over $190,000 and Democrats want to increase that burden.
Even the tax increases that Democrats are proposing won’t cover the true costs of their spending.
Even a top Democrat is worrying about overspending.
John Podesta, a former chief of staff to President Bill Clinton, warned that there will be midterm consequences if they don’t lower the price tag on their $3.5 trillion bill.
“The political reality is clear, given Democrats have no margin for error in the Senate and a limited margin in the House,” Podesta wrote in a memo sent to all Democrat lawmakers. “We will not secure the full $3.5 trillion investment. It’s time for Democrats to unite in finding the path forward.
“You are either getting both bills or neither — and the prospect of neither is unconscionable,” he wrote. “It would signal a complete and utter failure of our democratic duty, and a reckless abdication of our responsibility. It would define our generation’s history and show that, when our time came, we failed, both for Americans now and in the years to come.
“The historical trend makes it clear that Democrats will face severe headwinds next November,” he added, “but nothing will guarantee a political reckoning faster than if the Democrats fail to pass anything.”
The Democrats are trying to increase spending while Americans are already having to deal with an increase with inflation and it’s only getting worse.
The Federal Reserve’s core inflation forecasts for 2022 are currently at their highest since 2007 and is expected to be 2.3%.
This bill contains reckless overspending that is likely to hurt the economy yet Nancy Pelosi is so blinded by her radical ideology that she can’t realize that it’s even in her own best interest to stop the insane spending.
