Nancy Pelosi is feeling the heat.
Joe Biden’s presidency crashed into the rocks and Democrats’ control of Congress is on the line next year.
And now Nancy Pelosi lost her mind when confronted with one giant failure.
House Speaker Pelosi and other Democrats view ramming Joe Biden’s multi-trillion-dollar socialist spending binge through Congress as the centerpiece of the party’s ability to cling to their majorities next November.
But Democrats are locked in a bitter civil war between swig seat members and leftist ideologues over the size and scope of the socialist spending bill.
That’s led to an intraparty fight where Democrats cannot even agree with what is in the bill and the only defining characteristic of the big government boondoggle is the proposed $3.5 trillion price tag.
Reporters asked Pelosi if the Democrats’ failure to explain to the public what was in the bill led to it stalling out in Congress.
This was a softball question, but Pelosi whiffed completely.
In her answer, Pelosi blamed the media for not doing the Democrats’ job and selling the socialist scheme to the public.
“Well, I think you all could do a better job of selling it, to be very frank with you,” Pelosi stated. “Because every time I come here I go through the list, family medical leave, climate, the issues that are in there.”
Democrats are so used to the corporate media working on behalf of the party that Pelosi scolded her allies in the legacy press for not aggressively promoting the left’s propaganda on this piece of legislation.
Pelosi whined that a proposed $3.5 trillion spending blowout was too complicated to explain to voters, but in the end socialism would prove popular.
“It is hard to break through when you have such a comprehensive package,” Pelosi continued. “But as we narrow it down and put it out there I think that — for example, one of the things in the bill is the continuation of the Biden tax credit, the child tax credit that is within the rescue package. That has great appeal. Do people know where it springs from? No, but it is a vast bill. It has a lot in it and we will have to continue to make sure the public does. But whether they know what or not, they overwhelming support it. And by the way, women much more than men.”
In many ways, Democrats are lucky Americans are not dialed in on the bill’s specifics.
One provision allows the IRS to spy on Americans’ bank accounts by monitoring any transaction of more than $600.
Pelosi and Democrats claim the IRS monitoring every transaction greater than $600 will allow the government to catch billionaire tax cheats.
But in the last Democrat administration the IRS targeted Tea Party groups for political harassment.
The IRS gaining access to Americans’ bank accounts and tracking their cash flows open the doors to government bureaucrats spying on Joe Biden’s political opponents and leaking details of their financial transactions to the press to embarrass them.
