The Democrats plan to indict Donald Trump ahead of the 2024 election.
Donald Trump just got this shocking update about when Democrats will arrest him.
Two weeks ago the Manhattan district attorney’s office began leaking to the press that it planned to arrest Donald Trump on bogus charges that Trump falsified business records to cover up accepting an illegal campaign contribution when Michael Cohen paid Stormy Daniels $130,000 in October 2016.
But after Trump raised the specter of a Democrat prosecutor arresting the leader of the Republican Party ahead of the 2024 election Democrats got cold feet.
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer refused to say he had confidence in Soros-funded Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s case.
CNN commentator Van Jones warned this is a weak case that would only embolden Trump if he beat the charges, which seemed likely given the flimsy nature of the allegations.
Then suddenly out of the blue the Manhattan grand jury announced it was taking a scheduled break for Passover and would not hear any testimony or evidence until April.
The Associated Press exclusively reports:
The Manhattan grand jury investigating hush money paid on Donald Trump’s behalf is scheduled to consider other matters next week before taking a previously scheduled two-week hiatus, a person familiar with the matter said Wednesday. That means a vote on whether or not to indict the former president likely wouldn’t come until late April at the earliest.
The break, which was scheduled in advance when the panel was convened in January, coincides with Passover, Easter and spring break for the New York City public school system.
The news the grand jury went on recess came the same day three insiders from the Manhattan D.A.’s office who worked on the Trump investigation admitted to The Daily Beast that Bragg’s case is “flimsy.”
“The indictment that Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg is currently seeking against former President Donald Trump—over his payment to silence a porn star about their sexual affair—is based on a crime that was so flimsy it was never viewed as a standalone criminal case, according to three attorneys who have worked on that investigation,” The Daily Beast exclusively reported.
The D.A. office insiders told The Daily Beast that the problem with Bragg’s case is it relies upon the accusation that Trump covered up a federal campaign finance violation that the Department of Justice refused to prosecute.
The insiders also revealed that Bragg’s Democrat predecessor also investigated making this same charge but gave up after admitting they could not prove Trump committed a crime.
“But New York County prosecutors never considered pursuing the hush money case by itself, because, for one thing, investigators on the DA’s Trump team couldn’t even agree whether Trump committed a serious crime,” The Daily Beast reported.
Political insiders suspect that the real reason Bragg pumped the brakes on his grand jury was the fact that Democrats worried bringing obviously politically motivated charges against Trump would backfire and damage the chances of Democrat prosecutors in Atlanta and D.C. indicting Trump.
