Hill rose to prominence quickly, conducting interviews with HBO and Vice News.
She was even endorsed by Barack Obama in her congressional run and won to become a freshman in the latest House class.
And according to text messages, Hill was also involved in an affair with Graham Kelly, one of her top advisers.
Hill is the latest in a string of high-profile liberals in politics, media, and entertainment who have been embroiled in scandal.
Minnesota Senator Al Franken resigned after a spate of women came forward accusing him of groping them while taking photos.
Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison was accused of domestic violence involving a girlfriend.
