One of the major stories coming out of the 2020 election was the dramatic swing in the Hispanic vote towards Donald Trump.
Pew’s post-election survey found Donald Trump won nearly 40 percent of the Hispanic vote stunning so-called “experts” in the political media that smugly predicted Trump’s opposition to amnesty and “racist” immigration policies would cement the Latino vote for Democrats.
Nowhere was this shift more evident than in the Rio Grande Valley counties in Texas which bear the brunt of illegal immigration.
In 2016, Hillary Clinton won 65 percent of the vote in Zapata County.
By 2020 Donald Trump became the first Republican since reconstruction to carry Zapata County winning 52.5 percent of the vote.
Latino voters in border counties reject Joe Biden’s open borders policies.
And now members of Biden’s own party are trying to get out ahead of the political fallout from Biden’s border crisis by siding with Republicans.
Texas state representative Eddie Morales, Jr. wrote an October 13 letter to Joe Biden imploring Biden to grant Texas’s Republican Governor Greg Abbott’s request for a Federal Emergency Authorization for the border crisis.
“Last week, on October 13th, I wrote to President Biden urging him to grant a Federal Emergency Authorization for the border crisis,” Morales posted on Facebook. “Initially, he rejected to grant a Federal Emergency Authorization, but Texas is now appealing.”
Morales explained that a Federal Emergency Authorization would allow FEMA to reimburse residents for the damage illegal aliens invading the country inflicted on their property.
Representative Morales explained the gravity of the situation revealing that constituents complained that illegal aliens violently entered their homes and ransacked their property.
“I am fighting hard for President Biden to grant this authorization because I believe families should not have to bear the financial responsibility from the damages brought on by migrant crossings,” Morales added. “My office has received reports from families of migrants coming up to their homes, and in some instances, breaking in. We have also heard reports of ranchers having their fences cut and people’s water lines severed. Victims of this damage should not bear the financial responsibility of repairs.”
Morales begged Biden to understand that open borders threatened public safety as residents lived in fear for the safety of their families and property.
“Families and individuals along the border are often scared for their safety,” Morales continued. “The people I represent — the people who live in these communities — do not deserve to be subject to this fear, nor should they be subject to having to pay for the damages to their property.
“Democrat to Democrat, this does not need to be a partisan matter,” Morales concluded. “These communities are pleading for the safety and security of American and Texas citizens.”
Law enforcement experts predict around two million illegal aliens will cross into America in 2021.
The blame lies exclusively with Joe Biden’s open borders policies and rhetoric.
Multiple news outlets interviewed illegal aliens after they entered America and the illegal aliens report that they came to America because Joe Biden opened up the borders and they never would have attempted this under Donald Trump.
