Now Harris is learning she is the butt of jokes by members of her own administration.
And one embarrassing picture destroyed Kamala Harris’ relationship with Joe Biden.

According to the new book “This Will Not Pass” by New York Times reporters Jonathan Martin and Alexander Burns, Harris was furious with the photo believing Vogue editor Anna Wintour embarrassed Harris by putting her on the cover in sneakers.
POLITICO Playbook reported that Harris was so upset that she dispatched top aides to personally complain to Wintour.
This upset Biden’s inner circle who felt that Harris focused on a petty personal slight as opposed to the real issues.
POLITICO reports:
Harris’ incoming press secretary SYMONE SANDERS, who declined to comment, reached Vogue editor ANNA WINTOUR to convey Harris’ frustration. Wintour, who did not respond to a request for comment, protested that she had chosen the picture personally because it made Harris “relatable,” according to Martin and Burns.
Incoming chief of staff TINA FLOURNOY was caught “off-guard by the anger in Harris’ circle” and contacted a senior Biden campaign official. Given the country’s myriad crises and the recent January 6th riot at the Capitol, “[t]he Biden adviser told Flournoy that this was not the time to be going to war with Vogue over a comparatively trivial aesthetic issue. Tina, the adviser said, these are first-world problems,” according to the excerpt.
“This Will Not Pass” is filled with reporting about how Biden’s aides came to see Harris as an inept failure.
Martin and Burns reported that Harris felt Biden’s inner staff never respected her with Harris even whining that people did not remain standing for Harris the way they did for Biden when the two entered a room.
POLITICO reports:
At one point, Harris dispatched Flournoy to talk to top Biden adviser ANITA DUNN to convey displeasure that White House staff was not standing up for Harris when she entered the room the way they did for Biden. “The vice president took it as a sign of disrespect,” according to the excerpt.
Democrats look at Harris’ bumbling performance in office and horrific poll numbers have Democrats panicking about the prospect of Harris as the party nominee in 2024.
And the leaks in this book are likely intended as a signal to other Democrats that Biden’s handlers will not mind others stepping up to challenge Harris in the 2024 primary if Biden chooses not to seek re-election.
