Rudy Giuliani is at the center of the Democrats’ impeachment witch hunt.
Democrats believe Giuliani’s affairs in Ukraine are key to ending Donald Trump’s Presidency.
And now Rudy Giuliani told one impeachment truth that made Trump’s life more difficult.
With the Senate impeachment trial underway, the big fight Democrats are staging is over witnesses.
Democrats claim that their case against the President is air tight, but that they need access to new witnesses like former National Security Advisor John Bolton as well as more documents.
Both cannot be true that the Democrats constructed a rock-solid case to remove the President and that they need new witness testimony.
Republicans argue that it’s not the Senate’s job to conduct a fact finding investigation that House Democrats were too impatient to see through.
Donald Trump and his supporters both in the Senate and out in the country believed this argument stood strong enough to see the President through a Senate trial and possibly avoid any witnesses being called to unnecessarily drag out the proceeding.
But not for the first time did Trump’s personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani step into the fray and complicate matters.
Appearing on New York City radio station 970 AM Giuliani told host John Catsimatidis that he would be happy to testify in order to detail the findings of his investigation into Joe Biden’s corruption.
“I would love to see a trial. I’d love to be a witness — because I’m a potential witness in the trial — and explain to everyone the corruption that I found in Ukraine, that far out-surpasses any I’ve ever seen before, involving Joe Biden and a lot of other Democrats,” Giuliani told Catsimatidis. “And it wasn’t just 2016. It was going on for years under Obama. I have those facts, I have those witnesses, I have documents and I have recordings. And I would love to get them out in public because everyone is trying to suppress them to protect Joe Biden.”
“But I don’t think the American people should be put through a useless trial. You should never have a trial of a non-crime. That’s a desecration of justice.… It should be thrown out as a deterrent for other Congresses doing the same thing,” Giuliani concluded.
Democrats loved hearing this.
Chuck Schumer, Adam Schiff and Nancy Pelosi know they are on the losing end of the impeachment fight.
Dramatic stunts and desperate Hail Mary passes are their only hopes of winning a conviction.
And Giuliani played into their hands by announcing he was willing to testify.
Senate Majority Whip John Cornyn – the second ranking Republican – squashed any chance of Giuliani being called to testify.
Appearing on CBS’s “Face the Nation,” Cornyn declared that Giuliani was not relevant to either sham article of impeachment the Democrats brought forth.
“That’s a relationship that causes some of us to sort of scratch our heads,” Cornyn told host Margaret Brennan. “But I’d say he’s not relevant to the articles and what the Senate is going to be asked to do, impeaching a president for the third time in American history for a non-crime over events that never occurred.”
