Impeachment turned into a runaway train.
Now Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats are receiving a helping hand from one unexpected place.
And Rush Limbaugh called out Fox News for this shocking impeachment betrayal.
Fox News used to be the cable news network Americans could turn to for fair and balanced coverage of the day’s events.
But ever since the Democrats rejected Fox News’s request to host a Presidential debate, viewers noticed a shift in coverage.
Outside of a handful of primetime opinion shows and Fox and Friends Fox News Channels, so-called “straight news” programming now mimics CNN and MSNBC’s anti-Trump talking points.
Rush Limbaugh took note of this change on Fox News programming and called out the network by claiming they should change their names to Fox Never Trump Network.
“None of what they are saying happened in that phone call did, and we’ve even got Never Trumpers now all over Fox News, ‘Well, this phone call is very hard to defend. I wouldn’t want to have to defend this phone call. If I were the Republicans, I wouldn’t want…’ There’s nothing hard to defend about the phone call!” Limbaugh added. “You just don’t want to defend it! You know, Fox really ought to change the name of the network from the Fox News Channel to the Fox Never Trumper Network, because that’s who’s getting the highlights, and they’re bringing in Democrats like Donna Brazile.”
No one typifies Fox’s switch to Never Trump coverage more than legal analyst Judge Andrew Napolitano.
Napolitano spread fake news on the air by lying about the President’s call with Ukrainian President Zelensky.
Napolitano claimed the President admitted to a quid pro quo – namely withholding Ukraine’s military aide in exchange for Ukraine investigating Joe Biden.
“The president has admitted to holding up nearly $400 million in aid until he got a political favor, his word favor from the president of the Ukraine. That’s arguably impeachable,” Napolitano told “America’s Newsroom” co-host Bill Hemmer.
He added, “This issue of the whistleblower’s complaint based on hearsay is now moot. The best evidence is the transcript itself. The president acknowledges those are his words.”
This is a lie.
The President never offered a quid pro quo and there is no evidence to back up this baseless assertion.
In another appearance on “Fox and Friends”, Napolitano spread the pro-Joe Biden propaganda that the former Vice President never extorted the previous Ukrainian government to fire a prosecutor that had been investigating Burisma – an energy company paying Biden’s son the princely sum of $50,000 a month.
“You know, it depends on who you talk to. If you talk to Rudy Giuliani, he has a lot of evidence of inappropriate behavior by the former vice president and his son. Yet, the prosecutors in Ukraine and even prosecutors here in the United States say there’s no there there,” Napolitano told Earhardt.
Napolitano’s analysis is completely detached from reality.
But it is catnip for the Never Trump Republicans Fox is apparently trying to woo at the expense of Americans that want a fair and balanced take on the impeachment story.
