The Deep State is in big trouble.
Their plan to overthrow Trump was working perfectly.
Then one Senator went on TV and put the final nail in their coffin.
The Deep State’s Russia Hoax
Beginning in 2016, the Deep State began to push the hoax that the Trump campaign worked with Russia to rig the election.
Former CIA Director John Brennan briefed Harry Reid on the Christopher Steele dossier.
The dossier accused Trump officials Paul Manafort, Carter Page, and Michael Cohen of conspiring with Russia.
Steele claimed they were part of a plot to help Russia hack and spread Democrat emails.
The spy also claimed the Russians had a videotape of Trump with prostitutes.
Brennan wanted Reid to leak it to the press.
Reid did just that.
But the story did not take hold.
The media instead focused on the Access Hollywood tape.
Journalists believed that was the best chance to defeat Trump.
Origins Of The Russia Hoax
After the election, the Deep State leaked the dossier to CNN.
CNN reported that the intelligence community told Trump that Russia had compromising information on him.
Buzzfeed then published the dossier.
That kicked off the collusion frenzy.
Three Congressional committees launched probes.
In addition, Mueller picked up the FBI’s Russia probe after Trump fired James Comey.
But in nearly two years, no one has found any evidence of collusion.
There is a good reason for that.
In the book “Shattered,” journalists Jonathan Allen and Amie Parnes reported the Clinton campaign made up Russian collusion as an excuse on election night.
Clinton and her team needed a reason for why she lost an election everyone thought she had in the bag.
So they settled on the lie that Trump and the Russians cheated to rob her.
Journalists are almost all liberal.
They take what Democrats say as fact.
So when Hillary Clinton said the Russians cheated, they never questioned otherwise.
It also helped the press dig itself out of a hole.
The media claimed Trump had no chance of winning.
When Trump won, the press ended up with an egg on its face.
It was easier for them to go along with the lie that Trump stole the election, rather than figure out how they got it so wrong.
Richard Burr Says Trump Is Innocent
Richard Burr chairs the Senate Intelligence Committee.
He appeared on Fox News to discuss the status of the probe.
Burr confirmed that they had found no evidence of collusion.
“Maybe we find something in the next several interviews that are evidence of collusion. I don’t think so with what we’ve seen,” Burr said.
Burr continued, “I can say as it relates to the Senate Intelligence Committee investigation that we have no hard evidence of collusion.” He concluded, “Now, we’re not over.”
He explained, “If you asked me when we started this 19 months ago would we be over today I would say ‘yes,’” he said. “We found a lot of things we didn’t anticipate that we would find. We’ve had to chase a lot of threads that needed to be chased.”
