Of all of Bill Clinton’s sexual misconduct scandals, this one might be the worst.
It involves his connection to an unthinkable crime.
And now this lie about a sex scandal with underage girls has Bill Clinton in hot water.
When federal agents arrested billionaire financier Jeffrey Epstein on charges he engaged in sex trafficking underage girls to his Manhattan mansion, millions of Americans immediately questioned Bill Clinton’s connection to Epstein.
The two were longtime friends and were so close that Clinton traveled on Epstein’s private plane.
After the arrest, Clinton’s team put out a statement distancing the former President from Epstein.
Clinton spokeswoman Angel Urena’s statement read:
“President Clinton knows nothing about the terrible crimes Jeffrey Epstein pleaded guilty to in Florida some years ago, or those with which he has been recently charged in New York.
In 2002 and 2003, President Clinton took a total of four trips on Jeffrey Epstein’s airplane: one to Europe, one to Asia, and two to Africa, which included stops in connection with the work of the Clinton Foundation. Staff, supporters of the Foundation, and his Secret Service detail traveled on every leg of every trip.
He had one meeting with Epstein in his Harlem office in 2002, and around the same time made one brief visit to Epstein’s New York apartment with a staff member and his security detail.
He’s not spoken to Epstein in well over a decade, and has never been to Little St. James Island, Epstein’s ranch in New Mexico, or his residence in Florida.
But this statement had two provable lies.
Clinton did not travel with Epstein a mere four times.
Flight records showed Clinton traveled at least six times with Epstein and Clinton ditched his secret service detail for two of those trips.
The Washington Examiner reported Clinton took a previously undisclosed trip from Miami to Westchester in 2002 and a May 2002 trip to Asia – without secret service agents – that included stops in Japan, Hong Kong, China, Thailand, and Brunei.
Clinton was also caught lying about when the former President met with Epstein.
The former President’s statement claimed they had one meeting at Clinton’s Harlem office in 2002.
This is a lie.
The Palm Beach Post reported back in 1995 that Clinton attended a three hour dinner with a small group of people at the Palm Beach home of wealthy tycoon Ron Perelman.
Clinton did a lot of lying for just a four paragraph statement.
Americans are used to Clinton lying about sex.
Lying under oath during the Monica Lewinsky scandal led to his impeachment.
But this scandal is on another level.
Epstein stands accused as one of the most high profile pedophiles in American history.
And since his place and mansion were known for trafficking underage girls – one victim claims Epstein raped her when she was 15 years old – the American people deserve a full and honest accounting of all Clinton’s travels and dealings with Epstein.
They did not get that with Clinton’s blatantly false statement.
