Democrats and Dr. Fauci never wanted Americans to find out this truth about the coronavirus vaccine.
Now it’s too late.
And something Rachel Maddow said about the COVID vaccine just came back to haunt her.
On March 29, 2021 Rachel Maddow confidently informed her viewers that the coronavirus vaccines would end the pandemic by stopping transmission of the virus.
Maddow falsely claimed.
Maddow claimed the vaccine turned recipients bulletproof to infection and that if Americans took the vaccine it would break the chain of viral spread.
“A vaccinated person gets exposed to the virus, the virus does not infect them, the virus cannot then use that person to go anywhere else,” Maddow added. “It cannot use a vaccinated person as a host to go get more people.”
None of this turned out to be true.
But Big Tech banned anyone that questioned this false claim or posted on social media that vaccinated individuals could still contract or spread the virus.
One of the issues with Big Tech censorship of so-called “misinformation” that questions scientific guidance is that science is a continually evolving process where researchers consistently test assumptions.
Science is never “settled.”
Today’s conspiracy theory is next month’s accepted truth.
Talk show host Clay Travis pointed out the double standard involved with liberals spreading misinformation.
Conservatives want to reform social media to offer First Amendment protections to online speech precisely because liberals weaponize their control over Big Tech to punish dissenting views while allowing misinformation that supports the left’s narratives to flourish online.
Travis tweeted out the video of Maddow falsely claiming the COVID vaccine prevented transmission of the coronavirus and wondered why there was no accountability for Maddow spreading misinformation.
“It’s wild how there are no consequences for all these vaccine lies. If you wonder why many are skeptical of the covid ‘vaccine’ it’s because they remember what they were told about how effective the vaccine was. All that Rachel Maddow says here is untrue,” Travis wrote.
Travis added that one reason millions of Americans refuse to take the vaccine is because the public now believes elites sold the vaccine under false pretenses.
It was not just Rachel Maddow that promoted the false claim that inoculated Americans are safe from infection.
Joe Biden and Dr. Fauci repeatedly oversold the effectiveness of vaccines in preventing breakthrough infections.
While the vaccine provides protection against severe illness and death that is not how the powers that be sold it to the public.
Instead, the public health bureaucracy and the Biden administration pitched the vaccines as a silver bullet to crush the coronavirus.
Omicron’s wide spread across the United States among vaccinated individuals shows that is not the case.
