It is no secret that Mitch McConnell isn’t a fan of Roy Moore.
He is doing everything in his power to take him down.
And one shocking claim from someone close to McConnell proves that he is working with the Democrats against Moore.
Just last week, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell called on Roy Moore to step out of the race for Alabama’s U.S. Senate seat.
And after Moore refused to do so, McConnell began talking about mounting a write-in campaign against Moore.
But as one source close to the Majority Leader stated, a write-in campaign is not viable, and would mean a sure-win for Doug Jones, the Democrat challenger.
As reported by The Daily Caller:
A write-in campaign supported by Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell in the Alabama Senate race is not “viable” anymore, a source close to the Majority Leader’s political operation told The Daily Caller Monday.
McConnell and other establishment Republicans, such as National Republican Senatorial Committee chairman Cory Gardner, have called on Republican Senate nominee Roy Moore to drop out of the race due to allegations of sexual misconduct with minors.
“We’re looking at whether or not there’s someone who could mount a write-in campaign successfully,” the Senate Majority Leader told reporters last week.
Now, however, things are different.
The source, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said that there are currently only two options McConnell world sees transpiring: Moore wins and the Senate expels him, or Democrat Doug Jones wins. Recent public polling has put Jones ahead of Moore in the reliably Republican state of Alabama, and the source told The DC that he thinks a Jones win is looking “more likely.”
Republican Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey had the power to move back the Dec. 12 special election, a move that McConnell allies would have strongly supported.
With the knowledge that a write-in campaign would ensure a Democrat win, it is hard for McConnell to claim that he is doing anything besides supporting the Democrat in the race.
While a majority of Alabama Republicans are standing with Moore, it is clear that this move from Mitch McConnell is counter-productive, and would do nothing but support the Democrats.
But McConnell doesn’t seem to care, and would rather ignore the will of Alabama Republicans in order to appease the liberal media.
Most Republicans in Alabama see through the mainstream media lies, and are continuing to stand with Judge Moore in this race.
There are too many holes in the claims against Moore to believe that they are anything other than politically motivated.
All these claims are doing is proving that the establishment is terrified of Judge Moore.
They know that he won’t be a part of their “good ol’ boys” club in Washington, D.C., and would instead stand for the people.
Do you think that Roy Moore will win in his race for the U.S. Senate in Alabama?
