Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer and the rest of the Democrats were thrown back on their heels.
They thought one sure victory that would cripple Donald Trump’s re-election campaign was within their grasp.
But then the Supreme Court intervened and crushed the Democrats with this massive defeat.
At the height of the illegal alien invasion in 2019, the Trump administration instituted the Migrant Protection Protocols (MPP) – otherwise known as “Remain in Mexico.”
The MPP essentially ended the open borders policy of “catch and release” where immigration judges turned illegal aliens loose in America to wait for the court date for their asylum hearing.
This policy stopped up to 60,000 illegal aliens from invading the country by flowing across the southern border.
Thanks to this dramatic intervention, the Trump administration cut down the number of illegal aliens streaming across the border from over 100,000 per month to just over 30,000.
This victory infuriated open borders activists that want to stack communities across America with illegal aliens to make sure the next amnesty bill creates as many future Democrat voters as possible.
Liberal activists sued in the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals – which is stacked with Obama and Clinton “judges” – and won a temporary victory.
Rogue “judges” blocked the MPP but granted the administration a reprieve by not ordering the policy stopped until the administration could appeal to the Supreme Court.
Trump supporters cheered the Supreme Court lifting the stay blocking the MPP.
White House Press Secretary Stephanie Grisham touted the ruling in a statement.
“By allowing the Migrant Protection Protocols (MPP) to remain in effect, the Court has prevented dangerous chaos at the southern border, avoided a significant escalation in public health threats, and mitigated damage to foreign relations,” Grisham declared. “MPP … has been crucial to our success working with Mexico to control rampant illegal migration, smuggling, and cartel-driven human trafficking, all of which present wide-ranging risks to both our countries and to the migrants themselves.“
While this victory was also temporary – the order only lifted the stay to the administration time to ask the Supreme Court to consider the case – it does bode well for the Trump administration ultimately prevailing in this case.
The Supreme Court routinely issues orders allowing the administration’s immigration policies to proceed while the cases at hand make their way through the courts.
Recent examples of these victories were the Court overturning lower courts’ orders blocking Trump declaring a national emergency to build a border wall and the administration implementing a public charge rule to deny visas to immigrants likely to end up on welfare.
Legal observers expect this case to follow a similar track.
These decisions show why Never Trump Republicans that effectively supported Hillary Clinton in 2016 – like RINOs Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan – spent years fraudulently claiming to support conservative principles.
If traitors like Mitt Romney had their way, Hillary Clinton would be appointing multiple Supreme Court justices which would produce the end result of rolling out the red carpet for illegal aliens marching across the border with the expectation of amnesty.
