However, Democrats are already plotting to shove Harris aside.
That’s because polls show that as toxic and unpopular as Joe Biden is, Kamala Harris is even more toxic and unpopular.
A new Harvard CAPS/Harris poll found Donald Trump leading Joe Biden 47 to 41 percent if they faced off in 2024.
But Donald Trump routs Kamala Harris 49 to 38 percent in a hypothetical match-up.

Former President Trump is leading President Biden in a hypothetical 2024 match-up, according to a new Harvard CAPS-Harris Poll survey released exclusively to The Hill on Monday.
If the 2024 presidential election were held right now, the poll finds Trump getting 47 percent support compared to 41 percent for Biden. Twelve percent of voters are undecided.
Vice President Harris performs even worse in a hypothetical match-up with Trump. Forty-nine percent said they would choose Trump, while 38 percent said they would support Harris.
Those poll numbers present Democrats with a nearly impossible problem.
Democrats’ number one goal is defeating Donald Trump by any means necessary.
That’s why in 2020 they nominated Joe Biden.
Joe Biden won, not because rank-and-file Democrats loved him, but because base voters thought he was the most electable.
However, the desire to defeat Trump runs up against the party’s core value of identity politics.
Taking the nomination away from the first black female vice president presents a lose-lose scenario.
Either Democrats can nominate Harris and watch the most politically incompetent vice president in history stumble towards certain defeat or Democrats can shove Harris aside in a bloody primary and alienate black women, the Democrat Party’s most loyal constituency.
Without massive turnout of black female voters – and some may sit on their hands if another Democrat defeats Harris in the primary – Donald Trump will defeat whoever the Democrats put up against him.
Kamala Harris – by virtue of her bungling – trapped the Democrats in a scenario where no matter what happens the party faces an uphill battle in 2024 that will spell the end of her time in politics.
Harris will either lose the primary or lose to Trump.
Each outcome would be her political Waterloo.
