Republicans thought they scored a major victory when the Senate confirmed Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court.
But the GOP just got hit with some bad news.
This strange turn of events could land Hillary Clinton on the Supreme Court.
Democrats and their allies in the fake news media are livid over Donald Trump filling Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s seat with Amy Coney Barrett.
The left howled about it being an election year and that the Senate confirming Amy Coney Barrett was an unconstitutional power grab.
In reality, all Donald Trump did was exercise his Article Two powers to nominate judges to fill vacancies and the Senate asserted its Article Two authority to advice and consent to the President’s nominee.
The Senate confirmed Amy Coney Barrett on October 26 which happened to be Hillary Clinton’sbirthday.
Republicans on the House Judiciary Committee tweeted Hillary Clinton by referencing her now famous October 26, 2016 tweet where she wrote “happy birthday to this future President” and included a picture from her childhood.
“Amy Coney Barrett, confirmed. Happy Birthday, @HillaryClinton!” the House Republican Judiciary Committee’s official Twitter account posted.
That led to former Republican Congressman turned left-wing MSNBC host Joe Scarborough firing back that Democrats would respond by packing the court and that a President Joe Biden would nominate Hillary Clinton as one of the new additional left-wing Supreme Court Justices.
“What a great birthday gift it will be next year for @HillaryClinton when she is one of the three new Supreme Court justices appointed through the Judiciary Reform Act of 2021. Thanks for the idea, guys. Only your colleagues’ thuggish behavior made it possible.”
For her part, Hillary Clinton also ranted and raved on social media about Senate Republicans confirming Amy Coney Barrett.
“Senate Republicans just pushed through a Supreme Court justice who will help them take away Americans’ health care in the middle of a pandemic. For them, this is victory. Vote them out,” Clinton posted on Twitter.
From the moment Ruth Bader Ginsburg passed away, Democrats have threatened to eliminate the legislative filibuster and pack the Supreme Court with up to six new liberal justices.
Senate Republicans do not believe that even if the Democrats win the White House and the Senate that they will pack the court.
Polls show 58 percent of Americans oppose court-packing while only 31 percent support this norm-shattering scheme.
FDR tried to pack the Supreme Court in 1937 when he was at the peak of his powers following his 46 state landslide victory over Republican Alf Landon.
The public rose up in opposition and FDR backed down in a move that essentially ended the New Deal.
If Democrats tried to pack the court to include Hillary Clinton, they would be waging a politically toxic and doomed fight that would drain political capital and set them on the course to a historic midterm election drubbing in 2022.
