Joe Biden got hit with even more bad news.
No one has ever seen a presidency collapse like this since the 1970s.
Three key Democrats just drove the final nail in the coffin for Joe Biden.
Joe Biden oversaw the most humiliating American military defeat since the fall of Saigon.
Biden fumbled the American military withdrawal stranding anywhere from 10,000to 15,000 Americans behind Taliban checkpoints.
The Taliban collected a treasure trove of military equipment that now sees the Taliban owning one of the largest fleets of Blackhawk helicopters in the world.
Not even Democrats could defend Joe Biden and his team’s incompetence.
Three key Senate committee chairmen released statements calling for hearings and directly criticizing the Biden administration for failing to secure an orderly military withdrawal from Afghanistan.
“I am disappointed that the Biden administration clearly did not accurately assess the implications of a rapid U.S. withdrawal,” Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chair Bob Menendez declared. “We are now witnessing the horrifying results of many years of policy and intelligence failures.”
Menendez hammered the Biden administration for lying to the public about how the Afghan army wasted the 88 billion dollars in taxpayer money that were supposed to train and equip an army to fight the Taliban.
“To see this army dissolve so quickly after billions of dollars in U.S. support is astounding,” Menendez continued. “The American and Afghan people clearly have not been told the truth about the ANDSF’s capacity and deserve answers.”
In fact, on July 8, Joe Biden cited the military might of the 300,000-man Afghan army as the reason the Taliban would not seize control of the country after the American military returned home.
Senate Intelligence Committee Chairman Mark Warner of Virginia was the second Democrat to call out the administration for failing to tell the truth about planning for every contingency.
Warner called for hearings to “ask tough but necessary questions about why we weren’t better prepared for a worst-case scenario involving such a swift and total collapse of the Afghan government and security forces.”
Senate Armed Services Committee Chairman Democrat Senator Jack Reed of Rhode Island demanded to know “what went wrong in Afghanistan.”
Reed blasted the Biden administration for “failures of intelligence, diplomacy and a lack of imagination as we transitioned military forces from the country.”
Presidencies end when the party rank-and-file deserts the president.
Senators Menendez, Reed and Warner represent pillars of the Democrat Party establishment.
The fact that all three feel it’s necessary to publicly criticize Joe Biden and his administration shows how nervous Democrats are about the political fallout from this debacle.
And Biden’s declining political standing should wipe out any delusions that Joe Biden will run for re-election when he is 81 years old in 2024.
