Trey Gowdy exposed the disturbing truth that terrifies Nancy Pelosi.
Nancy Pelosi blew up any credibility a January 6 select committee might have by rejecting House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy’s selections of Jim Jordan and Jim Banks to serve on the panel.
McCarthy responded by pulling all Republicans that he initially chose to serve on the committee.
On his Sunday night Fox News program, Trey Gowdy tore into Pelosi for her hypocrisy in rejecting Banks and Jordan while always turning to Adam Schiff – one of the most partisan hacks in the House of Representatives – as her go-to selection for investigations.
Gowdy explained Pelosi’s reliance on Schiff as her pit bull began with the Benghazi select committee – which Gowdy chaired – for the express purpose of protecting Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign.
“She put Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., on the Benghazi committee, even though his mind was fully made up, and he did everything he could to protect the Democrat nominee for president,” Gowdy told viewers. “That was his job. Not to interview survivors, not to access information, not to ascertain why the military did not respond in a timely manner, but protect Hillary Clinton. Pelosi picked him despite his bias.”
Gowdy also noted that Pelosi tapped Schiff to serve as the lead impeachment manager when Democrats impeached President Trump for his phone call to the Ukrainian president in July 2019.
The former South Carolina congressman added that in that investigation, Schiff fabricated a conversation between Trump and the Ukrainian president by adding his own dramatic reading of the transcript of their call and also lied about his staff working with the whistleblower whose complaint started off the entire ordeal.
“She picked Schiff to lead the prosecution in a failed impeachment trial, even though Schiff misstated facts, misrepresented a meeting with the whistleblower, and manufactured evidence during a committee hearing…Pelosi picked him anyway,” Gowdy continued.
Gowdy compared Jordan – who served on the House Oversight and Intelligence committees – taking part in multiple high-profile investigations, never leaked – compared to Schiff and Eric Swalwell, who Republicans accused of acting in bad faith, leaking constantly and attempting to undermine the investigation’s ability to get to the truth.
In his monologue, Gowdy wondered why the press never asked Pelosi to explain her hypocritical behavior.
“That is the question,” Gowdy told viewers. “Why Schiff and not Jordan? Why Swalwell and not Jordan? Why is it your members can have their minds already made up, but somehow that is disqualifying for the other side? It’s the sort of question a serious objective media would ask.… but the modern media in this country is just as partisan as politicians themselves. ‘Truth to Power,’ they claim. ‘Democracy Dies in Darkness,’ they claim. Well,” he said, “it doesn’t do well in the slew of hypocrisy either, that is where we are right now, and in no small part because the referee is just as partisan as the players.”
