Kamala Harris looks all set to replace Joe Biden as the Democrat candidate for president in 2024.
But there is bad news lurking on the horizon for the left.
And that became clear when Trey Gowdy leveled Kamala Harris with a rude awakening that terrifies Democrats.
Joe Biden named Kamala Harris as his administration’s border czar.
The administration tried to hide the number of border crossings under wraps for as long as possible but now it is official – Kamala Harris’ failure as border czar is the worst in American history.
In the month of September, the Border Patrol arrested 192,000 illegal aliens attempting to sneak into the country bringing the total number of illegal aliens stopped at the border to 1.7 million in 2021.
That is the highest number of illegal border crossings in American history.
And it all happened on Kamala Harris’ watch as border czar.
Trey Gowdy invited Texas Congressman Mike McCaul on his Sunday night Fox News show to discuss the ongoing crisis at the border as a creation of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.
“It is out of control. It’s a self-inflicted wound,” McCaul told Gowdy. “On day one, President Biden rescinded the Remain in Mexico policy, the asylum agreements, the Migrant Protection Protocols, which was working.”
The “Remain in Mexico” policy was one of the most successful border initiatives of the Trump presidency.
“Remain in Mexico” ended the dangerous policy of catch and release by forcing illegal aliens to wait in Mexico for their asylum claims instead of the government letting them loose into the country.
McCaul added that he served as the chair of the Homeland Security Committee in the House and that the border deteriorated into a Hobbesian state of nature that had cartels threatening to declare war on the Border Patrol.
“You look at this caravan, you’re talking about tens of thousands of people coming up, people without borders threatening the border patrol that they’re going to go to war with them. I have lived in this state all my life. And I was a federal prosecutor, chairing Homeland Security as you know, and this is the worst I have seen it. It is going to get worse, Trey, not better, before it ends,” McCaul stated.
McCaul explained that going back to the campaign, Biden promised open borders through a more “humane” immigration process – which cartels and traffickers correctly saw as an open for open borders.
“I think it’s been the plan all along. Going back to the campaign, that’s when you started seeing the traffickers realizing the law is going to change. And that’s when they started moving these kids up through the border. And it became a real problem, a self-fulfilling prophecy. I don’t think they realized rescinding this on day one, just because it had Trump’s name on it, what the consequences were really going to be,” McCaul declared.
McCaul closed with a warning for Democrats.
Harris wants to run for president.
Biden and Harris’ support for open borders alienated Hispanic voters in 2020 as counties along the Rio Grande Valley as Donald Trump’s policies to secure the border and block the invasion of illegal aliens won over Latino voters.
“This is not resonating with the American people back home. They want law and order. What’s interesting also is I find in the border, the border counties in my state, the Hispanic population, they want security. They want law and order. They have conservative values. And they’re starting to take a hard look at the Republican party right now, because they don’t like what they’re seeing with Kamala Harris and the socialist movement,” McCaul concluded.
A Pew study after the election showed Donald Trump won nearly 40 percent of the vote.
If Harris ran against Donald Trump in 2024, Harris’ failures as border czar could come to be the defining issue of the campaign.
