Joe Biden and Attorney General Merrick Garland tried to hide the truth about the FBI raid of Mar-a-Lago from the public.
But Biden and Garland found out some bad news.
And Trey Gowdy put Joe Biden on the spot by exposing this sinister FBI cover-up.
Magistrate Judge Bruce Reinhart ordered the Biden administration to release a redacted version of the affidavit the FBI submitted to justify the outrageous and un-American raid on Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago property.
The affidavit was a joke featuring 38 pages of mostly blacked out text that did nothing to settle the issue.
On his Sunday night Fox News program Trey Gowdy ripped the FBI and the Biden Department of Justice for trying to hide the evidence and rationale they claimed justified this raid.
Gowdy also noted how the Justice Department and FBI had no problem arguing to a judge that they needed to keep the affidavit secret while at the same time leaking false stories to friendly members of the fake news media about Trump supposedly keeping nuclear weapons secrets at Mar-a-Lago.
“Many Americans still have questions. These questions are not political. They are factual and legal. If you are contemplating indicting a former president, I think we’re entitled to more than 38 pages of black lines and DOJ leaks… clearly, the department is talking to liberal reporters. If you’re going to tell the story, tell it all and tell everyone, tell the American people. Don’t claim you can’t comment on uncharged conduct… if there is a case to indict a former president, give us what you got,” Gowdy began.
Gowdy added that the Justice Department also sent confusing signals about how if the FBI retrieved the documents in question why is the investigation just beginning?
“Perhaps some people have already made up their minds, but many have not. They want more information. Is this really about the return of documents, or something else? If it’s about the return of documents, they are back now. So why is the DOJ saying that the investigation is just beginning?” Gowdy continued.
Finally, Gowdy wrapped up his remarks by noting that the “foundational” belief in America that the law is applied equally no matter what is on trial in this case.
FBI Director James Comey and Obama Attorney General Loretta Lynch let Hillary Clinton off on the same charges after Comey rewrote the law in question to change the intent standard so the Justice Department did not have to prosecute Clinton.
“What’s at stake are two foundational beliefs, that no one is above or beneath the law, not even former presidents, and number two, similar facts should lead to similar outcomes. Justice should be the same for everyone. And never be used as a political weapon. This is important for the country. So give us more than 38 pages of redacted nothingness,” Gowdy declared.
If a Democrat administration allows rogue FBI directors to rewrite the law to favor their candidate while prosecuting the leader of the opposition party then America no longer functions under the rule of law.
