Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats are prepping the groundwork for one of the biggest political battles in American history.
The Democrats are going to pull out every stop in order to impeach Donald Trump.
But Pelosi just got some bad news because Trey Gowdy shut down one of the biggest lies the Democrats were planning to use to impeach Trump.
Democrats are still hanging their hats on the Russia collusion hoax.
They know Robert Mueller found no evidence linking the Trump campaign to global conspiracy with the Russians to rig the 2016 election.
So they are moving the goalposts.
House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff sent up a trial balloon on this strategy during a recent CNN interview.
Schiff argued that evidence for collusion was in plain sight even though Mueller couldn’t prove the case in court.
“You can see evidence in plain sight on the issue of collusion, pretty compelling evidence. Now there is a difference between seeing evidence of collusion and being able to prove a criminal conspiracy beyond reasonable doubt,” Schiff stated on CNN.
This was Schiff telegraphing that the Democrats plan on using Russia as grounds for impeachment no matter what the Mueller investigation turns up.
Trey Gowdy responded to this argument on a recent Fox News appearance.
The former Republican Congressman tore Schiff and the Democrats’ plan to shreds by asking one simple question: Where is this “evidence”?
“Well, collusion is a synonym for conspiracy. So, I hope the questionnaire followed up and said, ‘Okay Chairman Schiff, you just said that you have evidence of a criminal conspiracy between the President of the United States and the Russian state. What is that evidence? What is the crime — was Trump involved in hacking the DNC server? Was involved in the hacking of John Podesta’s email?” Gowdy began.
“Are you alleging that he participated and decided went to disseminate the proceeds of these two hacks? I’ve heard Adam on a number of occasions say that he is the third eye raven, has evidence and seen things that nobody else has ever seen before,” Gowdy declared. “But I’ve never heard him ask what is it? What’s the evidence of crime that you have, Chairman Schiff? I’ve never heard it followed up on.”
Gowdy sat on the House Intelligence Committee and chaired the House Oversight Committee.
Those positions afforded him access to all the raw intelligence, as well as the ability to question witnesses.
And Gowdy has consistently maintained that his investigations have turned up no evidence of collusion.
The fake news media mocked those findings as a partisan whitewash investigation.
But as the months dragged on, it’s clear that the “sacred” Mueller investigation also came to the same conclusion.
However, dead-enders like Adam Schiff are determined to fight to the last man to impeach the President.
And they plan on using the Russian collusion hoax as part of this scheme no matter what the evidence shows.
