Trey Gowdy’s Replacement Was Just Announced

Trey Gowdy has made a name for himself in Washington.

But he recently announced his retirement.

And his replacement has just been named.

Most Congressmen stay under the radar their entire career, never gaining much exposure outside of their own district.

But the Congressman of South Carolina’s 4^th district is different.

When Hillary Clinton was under investigation for her involvement with Benghazi, Gowdy sat on the front lines.

Finding the truth was his priority and Hillary was forced to answer tough questions.

Trey Gowdy has continued to do the same with countless Deep State officials since Trump became President.

However, after announcing his retirement as Chairman of the House Oversight Committee, Republicans have been trying to find a replacement.

Senator William Timmons of South Carolina has been announced as Gowdy’s replacement.

Although Timmons faces a Democrat challenger in the upcoming midterms, Gowdy’s district is solidly Republican.

Finding Gowdy’s replacement has been a long task.

There were a series of elections, each more contentious than the last.

Timmons became the winner after beating state Sen. Lee Bright in a runoff election.

Sen. Bright ran as the more conservative, anti-establishment candidate.

Although Bright likely would have been a bigger Trump ally, Timmons is expected to do well.

And Timmons and Gowdy have a longtime friendship.

The two of them grew up in the same city, went to the same college, and are both prosecutors.

In fact, Gowdy has done a lot to support Timmons.

And Timmons has described Gowdy as a mentor to him.

So if there’s anybody likely to take up where Gowdy left off, it’s Timmons.

He has the same law school experience as Gowdy and has spent his career in the same job.

Politicians like Trey Gowdy are exactly what America and President Trump need right now.

They will be especially necessary if Democrats win back the House.

Impeachment will be their priority if that happens.

Tough voices will be necessary to stop them.

Trey Gowdy is known for questioning corrupt figures and leaving them dumbfounded.

From Hillary Clinton to Peter Strzok, to Rod Rosenstein, there’s no person Gowdy won’t call out.

Now the question on everyone’s mind is whether Timmons will be able to take the same hard-line approach as Gowdy.

While Timmons is highly qualified, there is no doubt he has some big shoes to fill.
