Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats have never given up on their goal of removing Donald Trump from office.
Now their plan is coming into focus.
And President Trump was stunned when he found out how Pelosi planned to impeach him.
Democrats are dragging disgraced former Trump attorney Michael Cohen before Congress to testify before he heads off to prison for – among other things – making false statements to Congress.
Cohen’s attorney – former Clinton hatchet man Lanny Davis – appeared on ABC’s ‘The Investigation’ podcast to preview his clients’ testimony.
“He needs to tell his personal story to the American people,” Davis declared.
Davis made it clear Cohen was going to dump a bucket of slimy gossip on Trump’s head as part of a far-reaching plan by the left to destroy the President.
“And when he does,” Cohen’s attorney continued, “you’re going to hear personal, front-line experiences of memories, and incidents, and conduct, and comments that Donald Trump said over that 10-year time period behind closed doors that, to me when I first heard Michael tell me all this, even as much as I knew about Trump that was negative, was chilling.”
Davis added that Cohen would portray Trump as a comic book supervillain “horrible boss” in order to make Trump look as unsympathetic as possible.
“He speaks in bigoted words in private, which Michael Cohen will tell you. He treats people badly. He has no moral character in defrauding people in his businesses, and going bankrupt, and taking cash out, and putting people out of work. He lacks the moral compass that we expect in our presidents,” Davis added.
Davis revealed that Cohen had a one-two punch planned.
After Cohen smears Trump with character assassination and innuendo, Cohen would make the case that Trump defending himself in public of false accusations was grounds for impeachment.
“Here’s the President of the United States, the top official in law enforcement and everything else in the United States, using Twitter to call a person who is cooperating with prosecutors a ‘rat,'” Davis said. “That in and of itself is an abuse of power that could lead to his ouster.”
Pelosi and the Democrats know impeachment has no legally defined standards.
It is a political proceeding.
Keeping that in mind, Democrats understand that the true jury, in this case, is the American people and the court of public opinion.
Democrats believe if they can frame Trump for being an abusive, low-life boss, it will turn enough Americans against him that Republican Senators will feel comfortable in voting to convict Trump on whatever nonsensical articles of impeachment the Democrat-run House of Representatives cooks up.
