The media and Democrats threw on a full court press to push new gun control in the wake of the Parkland, Florida shooting.
They pulled out all the stops to pressure Republicans into caving and gutting the Second Amendment
Then all hell broke loose when Trump sent out one tweet.
Trump shocked his supporters when he called for strengthening background checks.

The legislation currently sitting in Congress, which was authored by Texas Senator John Cornyn and supported by Dianne Feinstein – who some conservatives dub the queen of gun control – would strip the Second Amendment rights of hundreds of thousands of Americans without due process.
It would also be another step towards a national gun registration database.
The media has been very effective in their pressure campaign.
They are exploiting the grief of the victims to use them as human shields while so-called “journalists” push for the next building block toward their ultimate goal of confiscation of every firearm in America.
White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders also alarmed conservatives when she said banning guns was on the table.

“During Tuesday’s press briefing, White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders was asked about a proposed “assault weapons” ban and said, “We haven’t closed the door on any front.”
NPR’s Mara Liasson asked, “In 2000 [President Trump] did support an ‘assault weapons’ ban. What is his position now?” She followed her own question by asking if President Trump supports “reinstating” the 1994-2004 federal “assault weapons” ban.
CNN reported that Sanders responded by saying, “I don’t have any specific announcements, but we haven’t closed the door on any front.”
In the same briefing, Sanders also said the ultimate blame for the shooting lies with the killer.
And that is correct.
This madness didn’t take place because of a lack of gun control.
The government had all the tools in place to stop this individual, but law enforcement – led by the FBI – dropped the ball.
President Trump is being misled by panicked advisors who just want the media to stop beating them up.
Trump campaigned on being a strong supporter of the Second Amendment.
And gun owners helped put him in the White House.
Up to this point, he had done the right thing and resisted all calls for gun control.
