Donald Trump’s coronavirus task force is working around the clock to stop the coronavirus outbreak in its tracks.
Cases are increasing and the nation is just weeks away from hitting the peak of the outbreak.
And Donald Trump’s doctor issued this coronavirus ultimatum. No one could believe what it was.
The President and his coronavirus task force hold daily press briefings to update the nation on the administration’s progress on the response.
Dr. Anthony Fauci – who heads the National Institute for Allergy and Infectious Diseases – is widely considered the nation’s top expert on outbreaks and diseases.
At a recent press briefing, Dr. Fauci warned Americans that there would be a second outbreak of coronavirus in the next cycle which would start in the late fall of 2020 or early in 2021.
“If, in fact, they have a substantial outbreak, it will be inevitable that we need to be prepared that we’ll get a cycle around the second time,” Dr. Fauci cautioned Americans.
But it was not all bad news.
Dr. Fauci repeated his conviction that America would put a stop to the coronavirus outbreak, but that as long as a vaccine did not yet exist, the American people needed to prepare for the next wave of cases.
“I know we will be successful in putting this down now, but we really need to be prepared for the next cycle,” Fauci added.
In the briefing, Dr. Fauci noted that China was seeing a minor resurgence in cases after they lifted their lockdown measures.
But Dr. Fauci explained that these new cases were the result of infected people traveling to China.
“They have very, very few cases, but what they’re starting to see as they’re relaxing the constraints on travel, that they’re getting imported cases,” Dr. Fauci detailed.
Dr. Fauci used this data point as a note of caution to Americans that when the outbreak finally peaked and subsided and American life began returning to normal, it was important to keep the international travel restrictions in place.
“I think we’re going to have to remember we don’t want to import cases in,” Fauci said.
“That doesn’t mean you declare victory when it does that, but at least you’re on the way that you want to go,” Dr. Fauci concluded.
If there is one thing Americans can have confidence in, it is that it won’t take much convincing for Donald Trump to keep travel bans in place.
Experts like Dr. Fauci credit the President’s early decision to restrict travel from China and other hot spots around the globe with slowing the coronavirus outbreak in the United States.
Dr. Fauci repeatedly stated in media interviews that America could avoid Italy’s fate of a runaway outbreak that exhausts the healthcare system because the President acted early to cut off the import of the virus to the greatest extent possible.
Once the country moves past this outbreak, keeping vigilant on travel restrictions to prevent the country from importing new cases that will seed a renewed explosion of the virus will be of the utmost importance.
