Fox News host Tucker Carlson slammed Academy Award-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence after she claimed that she has recurring nightmares featuring him on Tuesday.
In a recent Vogue interview Lawrence talked about her anger towards her more conservative family since Trump’s election in 2016 and how she’s “worked so hard” to forgive her father for having differing political views.
“I just worked so hard in the last five years to forgive my dad and my family and try to understand: It’s different. The information they are getting is different. Their life is different,” she explained. “I’ve tried to get over it and I really can’t. I can’t. I’m sorry I’m just unleashing, but I can’t f*** with people who aren’t political anymore. You live in the United States of America. You have to be political. It’s too dire. Politics are killing people.”
The actress, who dropped out of school at age 14, described the 2016 election between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump as “America had the choice between a woman and a dangerous, dangerous jar of mayonnaise. And they were like, ‘Well, we can’t have a woman. Let’s go with the jar of mayonnaise.'”
Lawrence also mentioned in the interview that she talked to her therapist about recurring nightmares in which Carlson had appeared.
Tucker Carlson blasted the actress for her claims.
“When you work in television, you lose control of a lot of things,” Carlson led into the segment, adding, “So can it really be your fault, are you really responsible if major Hollywood starlets dream about you? Maybe it’s the sexy glasses. Who knows? We can only speculate.”
Carlson turned to fellow Fox News anchor Trace Gallagher who gave the full report.
“Just so you get the total dichotomy of this, Tucker, it’s important to note that while Jennifer Lawrence sees you in her head at night, you know, the nightmares when she sleeps, she is likely not watching you now,” Gallagher began, adding, “But her parents are probably watching because they’re fans.”
Gallagher pointed out that Lawrence’s “Tucker Carlson Tonight-mares” might have started because of a 2017 segment where Tucker had stated that Lawrence suffered from “Trump Derangement Syndrome” after “The Hunger Games” actress appeared to claim that Trump had caused hurricanes.
Following Trump’s election, Lawrence suggested that nature herself was punishing America for electing Trump, stating at the time, “It’s really hard … not to feel Mother Nature’s rage and wrath.”
“So she says she has nightmares about us, that’s what they’re calling it. Nightmares,” Carlson continued. “We’re flattered. I think it’s the sexy glasses.”
