No one had ever heard Tucker Carlson utter a critical word about the network that pays his salary.
But Tucker Carlson said something about Fox News that stunned viewers into silence.
Tucker Carlson is concerned that the D.C. swamp will roll the mentally and physically impaired Joe Biden and launch a shooting war with Russia over Ukraine – a country that does not present any vital national security interests to the United States.
Russian President Vladimir Putin mobilized 175,000 troops on the border with Ukraine.
And the foreign policy establishment in Washington is pushing Biden to confront Putin militarily.
Carlson cited news reports that the Biden administration was preparing to evacuate Americans from Ukraine in the event of war.
“It’s almost impossible to believe, but we actually are moving closer to a hot war with Russia,” Carlson told his audience. “Now, the people driving this are incompetent. They have a decades-long record of incompetence. They have no fine motor skills whatsoever. So, once this begins to happen, they will not have control over the outcome. You could wake up one morning and it’s 1914.”
Donald Trump won the presidency in 2016 on the promise of an America First foreign policy.
And Trump lived up to his word by not starting any new wars.
But Tucker Carlson cautioned viewers that Republicans were already reverting back to the disastrous John McCain/Mitt Romney foreign policy of war mongering that helped cost Republicans the 2008 and 2012 elections.
“Republicans are doing nothing to stop this,” Carlson added. “In fact, they’re egging the weak and incompetent president on to do more. ‘Oh, Biden is weak. He’s not standing up against Vladimir Putin!’ You’re hearing that constantly, including on this channel from Republicans. And the rhetoric is getting hotter and crazier and more disconnected from reality.”
Carlson cited the deranged rantings of RINO Senator Roger Wicker who declared Biden should deploy troops to Ukraine and launch a nuclear strike against Russia.
Wicker raged that “we don’t rule out first-use nuclear action. We don’t think it will happen. But there’s certain things in negotiations – if you’re going to be tough – that you don’t take off the table.”
To make matters worse, Carlson added, Wicker unleashed these dangerous comments on Fox News with no pushback.
Carlson expressed bafflement that Wicker would say such a thing on Fox News and wondered out loud if launching a nuclear first strike in a war with no American interest at stake was even legal.
“First-use nuclear weapons, troops on the ground. Over eastern Ukraine. Is the fate of eastern Ukraine tied to some heretofore unknown core American interest that somehow we’re just not aware of? Is that in the Constitution?” Carlson concluded.
Carlson’s never even hinted at criticizing Fox News before.
That’s how seriously Tucker Carlson takes this matter.
