No Attorney General in history has faced as much harassment as William Barr.
Despite his squeaky clean record, Democrats are painting him as the most corrupt Attorney General in history.
And now he could be days away from losing his job after Democrats did something sick.
Attorney General William Barr is under assault from the Democrat Party.
Nancy Pelosi has already forced through votes to hold him in contempt of Congress.
But because he did nothing wrong, their contempt votes mean nothing.
Being held in contempt of Congress could result in jail time.
The fact that Barr isn’t in jail shows how baseless the Democrat attacks against him are.
But that isn’t stopping them from trying to have him removed from his position.
A new article in The Nation is perhaps the most despicable attack against him yet.
The author targets his Catholic faith, calling him a “paranoid right-wing Catholic ideologue” in response to a recent speech he made at Notre Dame Law School.
In the speech, Barr goes after the radical anti-family agenda promoted by many secularists.
Barr denies that these values are decaying by instead insisting that they are being destroyed by organized groups, which is something few conservatives would deny.
“This is not decay,” Barr said. “This is organized destruction. Secularists and their allies have marshaled all the forces of mass communication, popular culture, the entertainment industry, and academia in an unremitting assault on religion and traditional values.”
“Virtually every measure of social pathology continues to gain ground,” he continued. “Along with the wreckage of the family, we are seeing record levels of depression and mental illness, dispirited young people, soaring suicide rates, increasing numbers of alienated young males, an increase in senseless violence and the deadly drug epidemic.”
After characterizing these statements as extreme, The Nation went on to list a number of positions Barr has had in Catholic organizations they claim to be extremist.
They mention how Barr has been on board of directors of the DC-based Catholic Information Center, DC-based Becket Fund for Religious Liberty, and the Ethics and Public Policy Center.
In particular, they target the Becket Fund due to them being the firm behind the case that allowed Hobby Lobby to exclude contraceptives from their employee healthcare plans.
They also target him due to his status as a member, and one-time position as “Supreme Board Member” in the Knights of Columbus.
The Knights of Columbus is a Catholic fraternity that the left often attacks due to the fact they are exclusive to men, and that they support traditional family values.
Democrats have previously attempted to use the Knights of Columbus as disqualifiers for political nominees.
Earlier this year Sen. Kamala Harris led the effort to block the confirmation of Brian Buescher to the U.S. District Court in Nebraska, citing his membership in the Knights of Columbus.
To her credit, Democrat Rep. Tulsi Gabbard came to his defense, while still opposing his confirmation on other grounds, calling their attacks on the Knights of Columbus “religious bigotry.”
Despite this, many will simply hear the term “extremist group” and avoid any other research, and considering the fact that Gabbard was the only Democrat to come to his defense proves that.
It’s clear that Democrats are going to begin targeting Barr due to his religion, which is no surprise with the amount of anti-Catholic hatred in the Democrat Party today.
