Joe Biden is the undisputed frontrunner for the Democrat Presidential nomination.
Some polls even show him defeating President Trump.
But this comment involving William Barr may have just ended Joe Biden’s campaign.
Joe Biden is the consummate swamp politician.
Biden won his first election to the Senate in 1972.
The former Vice President served at a time when establishment politicians routinely socialized together and then cut deals to grow government and take away American’s rights.
Back then, there was no stigma attached to this behavior.
But Biden’s long record of observing these Washington swamp traditions has him in hot water.
In 1995, then-Senator Biden heaped praise on William Barr for his tenure as Attorney General in the George H.W. Bush administration.
“As I know you know, but others should know, too, I truly enjoyed working with you when you were attorney general,” Biden declared at the time.
“You were one of the best I have ever worked with, and there have been a lot of attorneys general since I have been here, and I mean that sincerely.”
But Democrats have only grown angrier and more insane ever since Donald Trump won the 2016 Presidential election.
And many Democrats believe Biden is a relic from another era caught up in delusions of working with Republicans to pass legislation.
This could explain why Biden’s numbers with voters under the age of 50 are so poor.
A recent Quinnipiac poll showed Biden in the mid-teens in terms of support from younger voters.
While one comment from the mid-1990s won’t be the straw that breaks the camel’s back in terms of Biden’s support, many Democrats – as well as a number of other Presidential hopefuls – are taking note of his past praise for Republicans.
And the former Vice President felt the heat as many Democrats examined his record and it led to one of the biggest mistakes of his young campaign season.
Biden changed his positions on the Hyde Amendment – which prevents federal funding for abortion except in cases of rape or incest – twice in the span of 24 hours.
While meeting voters on the rope line after a rare campaign event, Biden told a woman that despite voting in favor of the Hyde Amendment for his 36 years in the Senate, he now supports full federal funding for abortion.
After that report went public, Biden’s campaign sent surrogates on TV to reaffirm Biden’s support for the Hyde Amendment.
That support lasted all of one day.
Within 24 hours, Biden reversed himself again and claimed to support federal funding for abortions 100 percent with no-questions-asked.
Biden’s swampy pattern of conduct could prove politically fatal in either the Democrat primary or the general election.
This is why some pundits believe Biden’s lead in both the primary and general election polling is much softer than the fake news media believes.
When all is said and done, campaigns only go as far as the candidate allows.
And over the course of nearly 50 years in national politics, Joe Biden has never proven himself to be an especially skilled politician.
