Democrats are losing their minds over the Mueller report.
And they’re turning their aim on Attorney General William Barr.
But one top Democrat instantly regretted this attack on Barr after his PR stunt backfired.
Democrats remain living in a fantasy land after the Mueller report concluded that there was no collusion between the Trump campaign and the Russian government in the 2016 election, which saw Trump knock off Democratic favorite Hillary Clinton to claim the presidency in a surprise upset.
Since taking office, Democrats have been perpetuating an insane conspiracy theory that Trump only won by colluding with the Russians, something which Special Counsel Robert Mueller concluded did not happen.
Now that Mueller’s report is out however, Democrats are now starting to attack Attorney General William Barr.
And one top Democrat attempted a ridiculous PR stunt against Barr that ended up backfiring in a major way.
The Daily Caller reports, “A CNN commentator published an op-ed on the network’s digital platform Friday criticizing Democratic Tennessee Rep. Steve Cohen for his behavior surrounding Attorney General William Barr’s scheduled testimony in front of the House Judiciary Committee.
“Douglas Heye, who was the deputy chief of staff to Eric Cantor and is currently GOP strategist, penned the piece following Cohen’s decision to bring a bucket of KFC fried chicken and a fake chicken to the hearing. He also gave the attorney general a relevant nickname: ‘Chicken Barr.’‘”
The ”Chicken Barr” attack only showed just how unserious Democrats are about governing America however.
Eating KFC in the middle of a committee hearing and putting a glass chicken on Barr’s desk only made Cohen’s stunt look like a stupid attempt to gain publicity, which is exactly what it was.
Until last week, no American had even heard of Cohen’s name before. He’s just a random member of Congress representing a heavily Democratic city, which is what most Democrats in Congress are.
But the PR stunt he pulled ended up being a desperate play for relevancy in what is already emerging as a pointless exercise in free media play by Congressional Democrats.
Make no mistake, Cohen and his Party aren’t interested in getting to the bottom of anything, they’re interested in getting power, and they think pulling stunts like this is how they can achieve that end goal.
But in Cohen’s case, it only led to mockery across multiple outlets as his move blew up in his face.
“Political stunts in Washington usually do. Videos and photos of Cohen devouring fried chicken ran everywhere, a sign that perhaps the hearing was designed to be more of a farce than a serious inquiry,” Heye wrote. “An absent hearing witness is and should be a serious thing. Given the theatricality of politics, a chair was placed at the witness table to highlight Barr’s absence — a move that was as inevitable as it was obvious.”
