Attorney General William Barr just got some bad news.
A high-profile judge thinks he broke the law.
And you won’t believe why this one judge wants to throw William Barr in jail.
Fox News legal analyst Judge Andrew Napolitano has been a one-man guided missile against the Trump administration.
Napolitano – who was once considered for the Supreme Court – fell for the Mueller narrative that Trump was a criminal hook, line, and sinker.
In an op-ed posted to Foxnews.com, Napolitano argued that Barr knowingly lied to Congress in order to cover up for Donald Trump.
Judge Napolitano tore into the Attorney General and falsely accused Barr of misrepresenting special counsel Robert Mueller’s findings.
Napolitano wrote, “But of course, Barr did know because Mueller told him in his letter of the complaints his office had about the four-page letter. Did the attorney general deceive Congress? The Democratic members of the Judiciary Committee grilled the attorney general later on this, and he offered that a follow-up telephone call between himself and Mueller dissipated Mueller’s written complaint. Yet, the fact that Mueller — a seasoned government official — wrote a letter about this knowing its near certain permanent residence in government files is telling. He made a permanent record of his complaint about Barr’s sanitized letter, and Barr hid that record from Congress.”
“It is clear that Barr’s four-page letter, about which Mueller complained to Barr and some of Mueller’s team complained to the media, was a foolish attempt to sanitize the Mueller report. It was misleading, disingenuous and deceptive. Also, because Barr knew that all or nearly all of the Mueller report would soon enter the public domain, it was dumb and insulting,” Judge Napolitano continued.
If that wasn’t bad enough, Judge Napolitano charged Attorney General Barr with deceiving Congress.
“Was Barr’s testimony before Congress deceptive? In a word: Yes,” Judge Napolitano hysterically claimed.
For months, Judge Napolitano appeared on Fox News programming and offered up so-called “analysis” that differed little from the deranged rants one would hear on CNN or MSNBC.
But in this op-ed, he danced right up to the line of demanding Congress throw Attorney General Barr in jail.
Jailing the Attorney General has been a common refrain for commentators on CNN and MSNBC infected with severe cases of Trump Derangement Syndrome.
But Fox News is supposed to be the home of fair and balanced news.
That label clearly no longer applies whenever Judge Napolitano is on the air.
By no standard did William Barr misrepresent Mueller’s findings or lie to Congress.
Mueller did not indict any Americans for conspiracy with Russia during the 2016 election.
And he pointedly did not make a determination on obstruction of justice.
Barr even asked Mueller in a telephone call – that was on put on speaker with aides in the room taking notes – if he had inaccurately reported Mueller’s findings and Mueller admitted that the Attorney General got it right.
Fox viewers cannot understand what Judge Napolitano is up to, but his deranged conspiracy theories and CNN talking points are hurting Fox News’s credibility.
