Nancy Pelosi and the rest of the pro-impeachment Democrats in Congress were thrown for a loop.
Their fixation with manufacturing a scandal out of Donald Trump’s July 25 call to the Ukrainian President blew up in their faces.
And now William Barr received one letter that handed Nancy Pelosi one big impeachment defeat.
It was Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton and the Democrats that colluded with a foreign government to interfere in the 2016 Presidential Election.
And they did it with the help of the Ukrainian government.
During the 2016 campaign, reports surfaced out of Europe about a mysterious black ledger that showed off the books payments to Paul Manafort from a pro-Russian political party Manafort performed consulting work for.
Manafort and his allies denied these charges, but they were enough to force Manafort out of the Trump campaign.
The FBI later used news reports about the existence of the ledger in part to obtain a search warrant against Manafort.
But when Robert Mueller indicted Manafort on a series of financial crimes unrelated to the 2016 election, Mueller never introduced the ledger as evidence proving that Manafort was right and that the ledger was a sham.
This intrigue originated in Ukraine, and last year Politico and the Financial Times reported that Ukrainian national turned Democrat National Committee consultant Alexandra Chalupa met Ukrainian officials to produce dirt on Donald Trump, Paul Manafort and their alleged “connections” to Russia.
Ukrainian legislator Serhiy Leshchenko was also allegedly central to his plot and in 2016 he even declared that Trump hiring Manafort meant that “Kiev’s wider political leadership to do something they would never have attempted before: intervene, however indirectly, in a U.S. election. “
The evidence that the Democrats solicited the help of a foreign government to dig up dirt on their political rival is sitting in plain sight.
And now that Democrats and the fake news media are trying to manufacture a scandal to frame Donald Trump for pressuring the Ukrainian President to investigate Joe Biden, Republicans are fighting back.
Senators Chuck Grassley and Ron Johnson fired off a letter to Attorney General William Barr demanding to know what the Department of Justice was doing to investigate this clear wrongdoing.
“In contrast, however, the Clinton campaign and Democratic National Committee hired Fusion GPS to conduct opposition research against candidate Trump, which included, among other efforts, the hiring of former British Intelligence Officer Christopher Steele to compile the ‘Steele Dossier’ that reportedly used Russian government sources for information. These facts continue to raise concerns about foreign assistance in the 2016 election that have not been thoroughly addressed,” the two Senators wrote.
“However, the Justice Department has yet to inform Congress and the public whether it has begun an investigation into links and coordination between the Ukrainian government and individuals associated with the campaign of Hillary Clinton or the Democratic National Committee,” Johnson and Grassley’s letter added.
Johnson and Grassley then asked the Department of Justice, “Are you investigating links and coordination between the Ukrainian government and individuals associated with the campaign of Hillary Clinton or the Democratic National Committee? If not, why not?”
Everything the Democrats are accusing Donald Trump of are crimes that they committed.
And now they are worried their underhanded attempts to rig the 2016 election will come to light.
