Democrats are still furious Donald Trump won Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation fight.
The left is out for blood.
And you won’t believe what the FBI is about to do to Brett Kavanaugh.
Democrats on the Senate Judiciary Committee – led by Rhode Island’s Sheldon Whitehouse – have fired off a letter to controversial former FBI Director Christopher Wray.
In the letter, Whitehouse and his fellow allies on the Senate Judiciary Committee whine that the FBI did not chase down the 4,500 tips that poured into a hotline after Christine Blasey Ford came forward with her baseless claims of sexual assault by Kavanaugh during a party in high school.
The Democrats claimed in their letter that the FBI had received numerous corroborated claims of sexual misconduct by Kavanaugh at the time.
“The admissions in your letter corroborate and explain numerous credible accounts by individuals and firms that they had contacted the FBI with information ‘highly relevant to . . . allegations’ of sexual misconduct by Justice Kavanaugh, only to be ignored,” the Democrats ranted.
Whitehouse fumed that a Trump-FBI ran a “fake tip line that never got properly reviewed, that was presumably not even conducted in good faith.”
The Democrats letter implied the Trump administration limited the FBI’s investigation in order to protect Kavanaugh from credible allegations of sexual assault and harassment.
“If the FBI was not authorized to or did not follow up on any of the tips that it received from the tip line, it is difficult to understand the point of having a tip line at all,” the letter continued.
Christine Blasey Ford’s lawyers also chimed in with a statement of their own – although many Americans wondered why Blasey Ford still has lawyers nearly three years after her accusations against Kavanaugh fell apart.
“Not only did the FBI refuse to interview Dr. Ford or the corroborators….it failed to act on the over 4,500 tips it received about then-nominee Kavanaugh,” Blasey Ford’s lawyers statement read.
Inevitably, there are several problems with this letter.
First is the fact that Senator Whitehouse took the lead.
During Kavanaugh’s confirmation hearing, Whitehouse amplified on a number of debunked conspiracy theories about Kavanaugh’s time in high school and even misinterpreted jokes made in Kavanaugh’s high school yearbook to claim he was a predator.
Second, Delaware Democrat Chris Coons had struck a deal with RINO Senator Jeff Flake to limit the FBI’s investigation both in time (to one week) and in scope (credible investigation only).
Finally, the tip line had been deluged by a bunch of whacko liberals, lunatics, and tinfoil hat-wearing weirdos that bombarded the FBI with nonsense.
Former chief counsel for nominations on the Senate Judiciary Committee, Mike Davis, told National Review that every Senator had access to the tip line and no one found anything even remotely approaching credible.
“Every whack-job in the world called into that thing. That’s why there were 4,500,” Davis told National Review. “Grassley’s team went through the entire tip-line. It was nonsense.”
But conservatives understand what’s going on.
The Supreme Court is geared up to hear cases on abortion, the Second Amendment, and affirmative action.
Democrats believe the specter of another FBI investigation and smear campaign will pressure the image-vulnerable Kavanaugh to vote with the left and sellout conservatives.
