Donald Trump is about to face the most important decision of his presidency.
It involves the Supreme Court.
And you won’t believe which Supreme Court Justice is about to change everything with this shocking retirement announcement.
86-year-old liberal Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg is clearly in declining health.
Last fall, doctors found cancerous tumors on her lungs after they treated her for three broken ribs suffered when Ginsburg fell which caused her to miss weeks’ worth of Supreme Court oral arguments.
In recent months Ginsburg also went through radiation therapy for the pancreatic cancer she was diagnosed with in 2009.
In the last ten years Ginsburg’s suffered four bouts of cancer.
Ginsburg’s declining health was once again in the news when doctors transferred Ginsburg to Johns Hopkins Hospital to treat her for fever and chills.
Supreme Court Spokeswoman Kathy Arberg reported that Ginsburg was released from the hospital and “she is home and doing well.”
But that did little to quiet the speculation about Ginsburg’s health and possible retirement.
In the past, Ginsburg stated she would stay on the Supreme Court as long as she was able to perform her duties.
That is clearly no longer the case.
Ginsburg routinely falls asleep during oral arguments, struggles to ask questions and needs help getting on and off the dais the Justices sit on.
The fake news media downplays her health – or runs outright fabrications about how strong and vigorous Ginsburg is – because they need Ginsburg to stay on the court.
That’s because Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell stated that Republicans would confirm Donald Trump’s nomination to the Supreme Court even though 2020 is an election year.
Democrats cried hypocrisy.
That’s because after Justice Antonin Scalia died in February 2016, Mitch McConnell refused to hold on Barack Obama’s nomination of Merrick Garland to fill Scalia’s seat.
McConnell and the Republicans argued that because Obama was a lame duck President the American people should decide if Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton would choose who took Scalia’s place on the Supreme Court.
But in 2020 the circumstances are decidedly different.
Donald Trump is an incumbent President seeking re-election and his party holds a Senate Majority.
When Obama was a lame duck and nominated Merrick Garland, Democrats held the White House and Republicans controlled the Senate.
There was a partisan conflict present that McConnell stated the voters needed to decide.
That is not the case in 2020.
The same party controls both the White House and the Senate.
That is the main reason why Ginsburg continues to cling to her Supreme Court seat despite the fact that by any objective measure she should have stepped down for health reasons long ago.
But Ginsburg stayed on the Supreme Court because she believed Hillary Clinton would win the 2016 election and many speculated Ginsburg wanted the first woman president to pick her replacement.
That backfired and now every Democrat in America is hoping Ginsburg’s health doesn’t decline even further and she has to step down before the 2020 election.
