CNN is facing a massive implosion.
The pro-Democrat Party propaganda network is facing massive turmoil.
And that’s because a bombshell sex scandal just forced this game-changing resignation at CNN.
CNN puppeteer and left-wing network President Jeff Zucker set off a political and media earthquake by announcing his resignation after revealing he’d been carrying on a years-long affair with a colleague at CNN.
Zucker wrote that he maintained a “consensual relationship with my closest colleague, someone I have worked with for more than 20 years. I acknowledged the relationship evolved in recent years. I was required to disclose it when it began but I didn’t. I was wrong.
“As a result, I am resigning today,” Zucker stated.
It later came out that Zucker had a relationship with CNN executive Allison Gollust.
Gollust used to work as a communications aide for disgraced former Governor Andrew Cuomo.
This became an issue as Chris Cuomo – who Zucker fired over a sexual harassment claim by a former colleague after Cuomo did not disclose he was assisting his brother in responding to the sexual misconduct allegations put forth by numerous women – apparently knew about the relationship.
POLITICO reported that Cuomo’s legal team used the relationship as leverage as Cuomo’s lawyers negotiated how much of Cuomo’s contract CNN would pay out.
“Two sources with knowledge of the situation not authorized to speak publicly said that Cuomo’s legal team, which continues to negotiate his exit from the network, raised issues about the relationship between Zucker and Gollust,” POLITICO reported.
POLITICO also reported that Cuomo fought back against CNN’s claims Cuomo had a conflict of interest in not disclosing his helping his brother fend off sexual misconduct allegations when Zucker owned a similar conflict of interest.
“Cuomo’s legal team asserted that Zucker was hypocritical to suggest Cuomo had a personal conflict of interest when the relationship with Gollust represented a potential conflict as well,” POLITICO added.
Cuomo’s legal team even played hardball demanding CNN preserve communications records between Zucker, Gollust, and Andrew Cuomo.
“I’m told CNN received a litigation hold letter recently from Chris Cuomo lawyers, demanding, among other things, preservation of all communications between Zucker, comms chief Allison Gollust, and Andrew Cuomo,” Puck’s Matt Belloni also reported.
In the end, it appears as though Zucker jumped before being pushed.
CNN’s chief liberal cheerleader Brian Stelter reported that had Zucker not resigned the Warner Media head honchos were prepared to fire Zucker.
“So, Warner Media here is saying because they did not disclose it, that Zucker is out,” Stelter reported.
“He says he resigned,” Stelter concluded. “My sense from some sources is he was facing termination if he did not resign.”
