October is normally the month for election surprises.
Donald Trump was blindsided by this turn of events.
And now a leaked phone call could end this Republican Senator’s career.
Nebraska Republican Ben Sasse is running for re-election and will cruise to victory.
But Sasse has his eyes on 2024.
However, his campaign engineered the leak of a phone call to position Sasse for his eventual White House bid.
Instead, this too-clever-by-half gambit backfired and sealed Sasse’s doom in the Republican primary.
Sasse’s team engineered a “strategic” leak of a phone call between Senator Sasse and some constituents where Sasse tore into President Trump.
First, Sasse repeated the fake news media falsehood that President Trump failed to properly manage the response to the coronavirus.
“But the reality is that he careened from curb to curb. First, he ignored COVID. And then he went into full economic shutdown mode. He was the one who said 10 to 14 days of shutdown would fix this. And that was always wrong. I mean, and so I don’t think the way he’s lead through COVID has been reasonable or responsible, or right,” Sasses exclaimed.
Next, Sasse ticked off every fake news media lie about Donald Trump being a racist, hating women, and also attacked President Trump for not following Barack Obama’s globalist agenda.
“The way he kisses dictators’ butts. I mean, the way he ignores that the Uighurs are in literal concentration camps in Xinjiang. Right now, he hasn’t lifted a finger on behalf of the Hong-Kongers,” Sasses raged. “The United States now regularly sells out our allies under his leadership, the way he treats women, spends like a drunken sailor. The ways I criticize President Obama for that kind of spending; I’ve criticized President Trump for as well. He mocks evangelicals behind closed doors. His family has treated the presidency like a business opportunity. He’s flirted with white supremacists.”
Sasse believes in 2024 the opening in the GOP primary will be for a candidate that hates Donald Trump.
Win or lose, Donald Trump will maintain the loyalty of tens of millions of Republican voters.
Trump’s base stuck with the President like no other politician in history.
Ben Sasse has been a perfect mediocrity his entire time in the Senate.
For the last six years, Sasse sat on the sidelines on every fight, never once engaged on an issue meaningful to conservatives, but instead went the John McCain route of performance art virtue signaling to please their base in the fake news media.
Sasse has no base in the GOP as Trump supporters loathe his disloyal showboating and Never Trumpers can’t stand him because he didn’t vote to convict the President on the Democrats’ sham articles of impeachment.
His2024 presidential campaign will likely come to a mercifully swift conclusion.
