Jerry Nadler believes he knows what is best for Americans.
That’s why he is demanding Trump’s impeachment, and leading the current hearings to do so.
But a top Republican just ended Nadler’s career by revealing his big secret.
After the failure of Adam Schiff’s impeachment hearings, Democrats are hoping to turn things around by changing the venue to the House Judiciary Committee, which is chaired by Jerry Nadler.
But they made a big mistake with this venue change.
There are a number of major Trump allies serving on the committee.
In particular, Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz is on the committee, and is able to question witnesses that Democrats brought forward.
And in a recent impeachment hearing, Gaetz took aim at Daniel Goldman, who is a former MSNBC contributor who is currently serving as House Democrats’ counsel for the impeachment hearings.
Gaetz went after Goldman for being a partisan figure, pointedly asking him, “Are you a partisan?”
Unsurprisingly, Goldman quickly responded, claiming, “I’m not a partisan.”
“I do, sir. I think it’s very important,” Goldman started to say, before Gaetz continued. “Matter of fact, you’ve given tens of thousands of dollars to Democrats, right?”
Goldman stated that he doesn’t “know the number,” but went on to claim that his political donations are not relevant.
But Gaetz is entirely correct with his statement.
Since 2008, Goldman has donated the maximum possible to every Democrat nominee for president.
This shows that he clearly has a partisan bent, and it should be something he discloses.
If it were a major donor to President Trump serving as the Republican counsel in the impeachment effort, Nadler would likely remove them from the committee over it.
But because it is a Democrat, it is perfectly fine for him to be a major Democrat donor.
Gaetz then went on to hammer Goldman over a tweet he made about the infamous Trump-Russia dossier compiled by former British Spy Christopher Steele, where he claimed “nothing in the dossier is proven false.”
“But the dossier said there was a Russian consulate in Miami, when there isn’t,” Gaetz said. “The dossier said that Michael Cohen had a meeting in Prague when he didn’t. The dossier said that Michael Cohen’s wife was Russian, she’s, in fact, Ukrainian.”
Gaetz finished his point by directly asking Goldman, “Do you regret this tweet?”
Unsurprisingly, Goldman didn’t respond to that question.
This is the best that Nadler can come forward with.
He is simply stacking his impeachment hearings with figures that already support impeachment.
Their goal isn’t to find out if Trump should be impeached; it is to make sure that he is impeached as quickly as possible.
Everybody on the Democrats’ side in the hearings is working to make sure of that.
This is why President Trump is refusing to testify before the committee.
With as biased as the committee is, there is no way that he would get a fair shake.
Do you think Trump should testify before the impeachment hearings?
