Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s scandals are reaching a critical mass.
The outrage surrounding her previous missteps pale in comparison to her latest crisis.
That’s because all hell is breaking loose after she made this jaw dropping comment about the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
The September 11, 2001 destruction of the World Trade Center and attack on the Pentagon were the worst terrorist attacks in the nation’s history.
Over 3,000 innocent Americans lost their lives on that day.
The United States responded less than one month later by launching the war in Afghanistan to destroy their operational safe haven and kill or capture Osama bin Laden and the Al Qaeda leaders behind this unspeakable tragedy.
While many Americans agree with Donald Trump that the war has gone on for too long and needs to be brought to a close, only a small extremist fringe believe the United States should not have taken military action to obliterate the Al Qaeda network behind the 9/11 tragedy.
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez includes herself in the anti-American extremism of the American left.
She revealed her outrageous beliefs in a series of shocking tweets.
It began when Ocasio-Cortez attacked Democrat Congressman Juan Vargas for calling out Ilhan Omar’s anti-Semitic bigotry.
“I remember a time when it was “unacceptable” to question the Iraq War.
All of Congress was wrong, including both GOP & Dem Party, and led my generation into a disastrous + wrong war that virtually all would come to regret, except for the one member who stood up: Barbara Lee,” Ocasio-Cortez wrote.
She corrected herself and stated she meant the Afghanistan war and not the Iraq war, which Democrat Congresswoman Barbara Lee was the only member of the House to vote against the use of military force that allowed President George W. Bush to launch the invasion of Afghanistan.
Ocasio-Cortez then wrote that in addition to the war in Iraq, she also opposed the operation to destroy Al Qaeda in Afghanistan.
The New York Democrat tweeted, “(But honestly we shouldn’t have been in either, and we should end the AUMF now while we’re at it)”.
CNN’s Jake Tapper asked her what she meant and if she actually opposed military operations to bring the masterminds of the 9/11 attack to justice.
“Congresswoman, could you please explain more about what you think the US should have done post-9/11 regarding Afghanistan? Should there not have been any NATO/US action versus AQ/Taliban in your view? A limited one? What would you have supported?” Tapper tweeted at Ocasio-Cortez.
Ocasio-Cortez responded by answering that “non-intervention” in Afghanistan was an option she favored.
“I think that our decision to enter unlimited engagement in Afghanistan, particularly through the AUMF + Congress’ abdication of power + decision-making w/ passage of the AUMF, was a mistake. Other options: targeting the network itself, limited engagement, non-intervention.”
Do you agree with Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez that the United States should have refrained from taking military action in response to the 9/11 terrorist attacks?
