Attorney General William Barr sent shockwaves through Washington with his explosive testimony before a Senate committee about the Mueller report.
And no one has more to worry about than Barack Obama.
Attorney General William Barr continues to upend the narrative about the Russia investigation.
His letter summarizing special counsel Robert Mueller’s findings exposed the Russia collusion story as a hoax.
But he continued to deliver body blows to the Deep State and anti-Trump forces in Washington.
In a Senate committee hearing, Attorney General Barr announced that he would “be reviewing both the genesis and the conduct of intelligence activities directed at the Trump campaign.”
New Hampshire Democrat Jeanne Shaheen was flabbergasted.
She tried to push Attorney General Barr off this talking point and get him to admit there was nothing to the allegations that the Obama administration and the FBI had possessed corrupt intent when opening the Russia probe.
But the Attorney General did not budge.
Barr said he wanted to examine the origins of the Russia investigation “…for the same reason we’re worried about foreign influence and elections, we want to make sure that during — I think spying on a political campaign is a big deal.”
Shaheen then tried to induce Barr to admit there was nothing to the allegations that the FBI spied on the Trump campaign and it was just a conspiracy theory cooked up in the mind of Donald Trump.
That’s when the hearing got interesting.
Barr confirmed – for the first time – that the FBI and the Obama administration spied on Donald Trump.
“You’re not suggesting, though, that spying occurred?” Shaheen asked.
“I think spying did occur. Yes, I think spying did occur,” Barr declared.
The Attorney General continued explaining that “…the question was whether it was predicated, adequately predicated. I’m not suggesting that it wasn’t but I need to explore that. I think it’s my obligation. Congress is usually very concerned about intelligence agencies and law enforcement agencies staying in their proper lane, and I want to make sure that happened.”
Barr made sure to provide some cover by saying he wasn’t sure if anything illegal happened or that there was predicate for the spying, but that didn’t matter.
Ever since Donald Trump tweeted in March 2017 that former President Obama “tapped his wires,” the fake news media and Deep State mocked the President as a liar who offered no evidence to back up his claim.
But there is plenty of evidence to convict Obama on this charge.
The FBI used the fake news Christopher Steele dossier to obtain a FISA warrant on former Trump campaign aide Carter Page which gave the Bureau retroactive access to his emails during the time he worked for the Trump campaign.
In addition, the FBI used Cambridge professor Stefan Halper as a human spy to infiltrate the Trump campaign.
Attorney General Barr is the first government official to call these clandestine activities for what they are—spying.
And now Barack Obama and his henchmen are on the hot seat.
