Barack Obama furiously campaigned for Joe Biden in the run up to the election.
Obama tried to make the case to voters that Biden was qualified to be President.
But Barack Obama just let everyone know what he really thought about Joe Biden in this new book.
Obama’s new book “A Promised Land” is set to hit bookstores and online shopping platforms this week.
In the 700-page memoir,Obama addresses every topic and controversy from his career in public life.
Obama discussed his negotiations with Senate Republicans and Obama made two unsurprising admissions.
In the book Obama claimed he dispatched Vice President Biden to deal with McConnell not because Biden “knew the ways” of the Senate or was some effective political operator.
And to be clear, Obama thought Joe Biden was a bumbler and the opposite of a savvy deal maker.
But Obama made use of Biden because Obama thought Republican voters were a bunch of racist rubes that wouldn’t be so upset if their leaders negotiated with old white guy Joe Biden instead of Barack Obama.
Obama wrote about his “awareness that in McConnell’s mind, negotiations with the vice-president didn’t inflame the Republican base in quite the same way that any appearance of co-operation with (black, Muslim socialist) Obama was bound to do.”
It did not surprise anyone that Obama held a low opinion of Republican voters.
But Obama also held the view that Americans in general were racists that constantly let him down.
Even though Americans overwhelmingly elected Barack Obama in two decisive victories Obama claimed America was a racist nation that consistently fell short of its ideals.
“I don’t know. What I can say for certain is that I’m not yet ready to abandon the possibility of America—not just for the sake of future generations of Americans but for all of humankind…And so the world watches America—the only great power in history made up of people from every corner of the planet, comprising every race and faith and cultural practice—to see if our experiment in democracy can work. To see if we can do what no other nation has ever done. To see if we can actually live up to the meaning of our creed,” Obama wrote.
“The jury’s still out,” Obama added.
Many Americans do not understand why Obama would want to lead a country whose people he clearly hates.
That disdain for regular Americans was on display from Obama’s first presidential campaign when Obama attacked rural Americans that bitterly clung to their guns and their religion and questioned the left-wing project to remake America through mass migration, open borders and unrestrained cultural liberalism.
In the end, the American people judged Obama’s Presidency to be a failure and they rejected Hillary Clinton running for Obama’s third term and instead chose Donald Trump to be President.
Obama’s resented that repudiation for years.
And he is using this book to settle scores.
