One of the biggest guessing games surrounding the 2020 election is trying to figure out if Michelle Obama will enter the race.
The former First Lady is the Democrats’ dream candidate and the one rival that stands the best chance against President Trump.
And now Barack Obama made a surprising decision that hinted about Michelle’s 2020 plans.
Barack Obama made it a point not to endorse any of the current crop of Democrats running for President.
This was significant because now that the Clintons have been discredited – due to Hillary’s loss in 2016 and the “Me Too” movement forcing Democrats to exile Bill Clinton because of his past allegations of sexual misconduct – Obama stands as the party’s de facto leader and elder statesman.
Obama’s refusal to endorse anyone cut a deep wound in the candidacy of his former Vice President Joe Biden.
Biden’s failure to secure Obama’s endorsement upon entering the race stood out like a sore thumb and led many to believe Obama didn’t think Biden was capable of going the distance.
Many pundits – including Rush Limbaugh – thought Obama’s failure to endorse a candidate was part of a plan to help Michelle Obama win the election at the national convention if the primaries failed to produce a candidate with the requisite delegates to clink the nomination on the first ballot.
But that may not be the case.
Reports have surfaced that Obama is indeed talking up a female candidate behind the scenes, but it is Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren.
The Hill exclusively reported:
The former president has stopped short of an endorsement of Warren in these conversations and has emphasized that he is not endorsing in the Democratic primary race.
But he also has vouched for her credentials, making it clear in these private sessions that he deems her a capable candidate and potential president, sources say.
“He’s asked all of the candidates who have sought his advice three questions: Is your family behind you? Why you? And why now? She checked the box for all,” said one longtime Obama ally.
“I think he feels licensed to give an opinion on her because he’s ‘hired’ her,” the longtime Obama ally said.
Obama’s positive words about Warren came as her support cratered after championing a communist takeover of the American health care system.
The former President also spoke warmly of Warren after rebuking Democrats for insisting on a purity test in their Presidential primary which many saw as directed – in part – at Warren.
Obama’s comments may mean that five weeks out from the Iowa Caucuses, Warren’s chances in Iowa – and by extension the Democrat primary – are far greater than any of the so-called “experts” in the fake news media currently rate them.
The Old Republic and the left’s attempts to pull a fast one backfired.
